Targets
Maastricht, Montfachon, Flamierge

Summary

Maastricht is under attack! All Windhund must defend our home city! This was the orders that went out and the squad responded in force. Thetor and Chaos set up on the west bridge as Allied forces repaired it while Brad and Chyrenz quickly got stukas in the sky. Windhund forces quickly got the bridge down before the Allies could react and they had to then turn their attention north. Allied Forces began to invade from the north and were unable to get a foothold in town due to our air and a short time later Axis forces took the north FB. We quickly found out this battle was just getting started...

Allied forces decided at that point that the west bridge was their p1 and began bringing in a huge force to capture the bridge at all costs. TheTor and Efried set up a fort at the bridge and began trading fire with several trucks and infantry that were attempting to repair the bridge. They were under constant attack from Allied Forces while Chyrenz got a halftrack and set up a zoc on the southwest hill overlooking the bridge and road. Chaos and Reich brought in tanks while Spacewolf and Brad set up 88's and punished the Allied forces attempting to take the bridge.

Tor and Efried had to repeatedly put their butts on the line setting charges on the west bridge to keep it down while Allied forces, equally dedicated, kept repairing.

Brad then suggested that Chyrenz swim an engineer behind their line and attempt to blow their FMS. Chyrenz responded and while under the cover of Windhund managed to MASTERFULLY sneak across the river and blow the Allied FMS attacking the bridge and also killing two Allied ei defending it.

Windhund quickly then moved to take down the south FB from Vise while Axis forces decided to AO an airfield. Windhund joined the para drop while Chyrenz drove around Vise to set up on the west side of Maastricht to attempt to take down the Allied FB's to town.

Soon Allied Forces got para drops on Maastricht and quickly captured the west spawnables. Chyrenz drove Windhund troops to the west FB's and quickly got one down and the battle for the last FB was on.

Windhund forces took down the the vehicle spawn fast, however Allied forces responded well. Efried and Spacewolf pushed Pak's up the hill engaging Allied armor while the rest of the troops walked in Engineers to finish off the infantry spawn.

Chyrenz and TheTor got all their charges off but were cut down soon after by Allied forces. Brad snuck in and finished it off a short time later under direct fire.

Maastricht was all ours and all the FB's were flying Axis colors after hours of tooth and nail fighting on the ground and in the skies above.

Axis Forces were then called to Flamierge to assist the defense there and Windhund responded.

Efried, Spacewolf, and Chyrenz moved out west from the Ab that was heavily camped and Chyrenz took out two enemy armor via sapping. Efried and Spacewolf traded paint with many Allied infantry and we saved the town.

Excellent work by Windhund who once again proved that they always are a force to be feared.

March 8th, 2017 - Merle, Mons, Gent FBs

Unread postby Chaoswizkid » Sat Apr 08, 2017 4:21 pm

So I didn't see an AAR up for Squad Night March 8th, 2017. It was one of the first nights since I got back into the game and Windhund. Chyrenz joked with TheTor that I should have to write the AAR for that night, and later told me not to worry about it.

LITTLE DID THEY KNOW, I DID WRITE THAT AAR!

Yeah, I know it's late, but I thought a different AAR would have been posted and I never really checked. I'm just guessing "better late than never". Anyway, here's the AAR itself.

Date & Time

Campaign

OIC

Chyrenz

Targets

Merle (DO), Mons (DO), Gent-Deinze FB (DO), Deinze-Gent FB (AO), Gent-Oudenaarde FB (DO)

Summary

Spawned in Merle to defend against initial attack.

Chyrenz joined me as 3 ET were advancing on town from the South. EFMS was already established West of town, though at an unknown position. Only one other friendly player was in town.

After the ETs were close enough to take down any atgs we tried to set up, Chyrenz fired smoke at maximum range from the Southern cp to obscure sight lines of the ETs. This continued until Thetor joined us in defense of Merle. Chyrenz identified the enemy FMS position while driving out another atg at a long-distance flanking maneuver. I respawned as an engineer and took it out while Thetor and I spotted for the ETs still south of the town. Chyrenz was able to take down a Stuart before another ET, previously unseen, took him out. Investigation of the area showed that the ET actually despawned close to town rather than trying to RTB. EWS went away at this point and we moved to the defense of Mons.

While we were defending Merle, soldiers in Mons had repeatedly called 911. This extreme alarm passed by the time we joined them. All three of us began advancing from the Southern AB toward the Western road, which had a constant enemy infantry presence as the enemy tried to regain the Power Station. While defending from repeated Allied attacks on the Power Station, two Stuarts advanced to the town from the Southwest, where Thetor and I were joined by Glock1 in spotting them for our panzers and for Chyrenz, who spawned a sapper and claimed one Stuart kill.

Around this time, the enemy FMS was spotted near the Western road. Chyrenz spawned in a 232, and we used leap-frog tactics to advance and eventually camp the EFMS; Thetor and I would clear enemy infantry, Chyrenz would advance to cover us from EI spawning from the EFMS, then the infantry would advance again. An unseen gun to the Northwest of town unfortunately took out Chyrenz's 232 once he was in full camping position. Thetor and I remained to camp the enemy FMS while Chyrenz spawned north of town and took out the enemy gun that killed his 232. After several minutes camping, we were killed, and notified the other soldiers that the FMS was still up (as they apparently forgot about it).

While our fellow soldiers went to task on the enemy FMS, Thetor and Chyrenz heard an S35 South of town. Chyrenz respawned with a Pz4 while Thetor and I spotted the S35 for him. During this time, the enemy FMS was taken out, but Thetor noticed an enemy infantry heading into the Power Station. After we directed Chyrenz to a good position of fire, Thetor went to smoke out the enemy tank while I went to clear the Power Station. Chyrenz engaged and destroyed the S35, and I cleared the Power Station. Chyrenz despawned the Pz4 and we held the CPs against a handful of straggling EI before EWS went away for Mons.

At this point, the map was dead quiet, and we were debating on what to do next. Chyrenz noticed damage on the Deinze-Gent FB and spawned immediately. He was unable to save the FB, but he was able to kill the enemy engineers afterwards. Thetor and I spawned at the two other Gent FBs to defend them while Chyrenz ran an FMS out to the now-Allied FB. We regrouped and destroyed the FB, flipping it back.

Reports came in of trucks headed from Oud to the Gent FB. We spawned at that FB, and shortly thereafter found an enemy truck headed to the FB completely silently with a couple of enemy infantry escorting it. Chyrenz had spawned in a 232, and he took out the truck before hosing the surrounding bushes for the infantry. We directed him to a possible FMS location past where the truck came in, and Chyrenz found a second truck, also completely silent, and destroyed that as well. We called it a night after confirming kills on all the enemy infantry that we had spotted for the FB.

Time: 02/24/2017
Campaign: 134

OIC: Chyrenz

Location: FB'S, Jodo,Tienen

Chyrenz, TheTor, Fugimo, Haupt, KillerKal

The Squad logged into quickly assist in the defence of Jodo by deciding to attack their northern FB in the hopes of stopping the Allied AO before it began.  TheTor loaded up his Opel with the future "meat bombs" (notice the grave forshadowing)

Tor drove as straight as he could (inside joke) being the he may have had a few sarsaparilla's before the trip.

As Windhund got to the FB we got peppered by machine gun fire killing some and ultimately after "trading paint" with the FB defender Chyrenz got his charges off.  The others died and were quickly forgotten....:)

A FB attack commenced with Windhund establishing two Fru's to the target and after about an hour of back and forth action were required to fall back on the city as the Axis defenders were not having a ton of luck against the Allied attackers.

Windhund focused on the north east sector of the town quickly taking down the Allied push there with Chyrenz repeatedly repairing the lone AI tower that was firing like mad.  He quickly estimated 200+ kills were clearly made by his work in keeping the AI up.  That was just a quick estimate however.

Windhund moved to defend the recently captured south FB that was being attacked by the allies to assist their attack on Jodo.  Windhund quickly took the fight to the Allies crushing their attempt to recap the FB allowing no charges to get even close.

Chyrenz and Fugimo then moved to Tienen which had ews going off and quickly intercepted 2 waves of allied troops killing both of their fru's.  Chyrenz set up a defensive position west of town in time to catch an S35 all alone.  Quickly it was sapped and mere moments later both Windhund soldiers heard the familiar sound of another Laffy coming in fast.

The Allied driver shut his engine down with an attempt to quietly get past the Windhund soldiers who subsequently peppered it with Fugimo's LMG and Chyrenz Pak.  Its smoldering wreck on the road was a reminder that few Allied attacks have a chance with Windhund.

2 pans arrived on scene and Chyrenz tracked it all on the west side with the help of Fugimo's bino's and soon filled it with rounds from his Pak leaving it burning on the western battlefield.

Another great night for Windhund who once again showcased that tactics and teamwork always win the day!

S!
