  1. Its always easier to run someone else's company since you dont know every detail. Im split on the Steam launch. Part of me says at least people now know about the game and can check back in, the other agrees (painfully) with Lipton that you want to put your best foot forward. Maybe Xoom read Lean Startups and felt it was better to go with a minimum viable product to start. Regardless, at this point its imperative to move forward and get the game updated, otherwise all we'll have left is some forums to argue about how to save the world.
  2. Lots of great ideas. I personally like the idea of daisy chaining FBs to move forward. FMS could be used for this as well, but currently the standard use of an FMS is to try to sneak one in to get close to town. Which leads me to the real question - What is this game trying to be? Xoom have you and your team developed a Strategy Statement for what WWII Onilne should be? Is it a big city fighting game? Open country sniper fest? Tank battle? Strategy game? Air battles? Navy - nevermind. I'm sure most will say yes to all of the above but that is where the problem comes in. I think where this game starts to struggle is when it tries to do everything. With a small team you have to laser focus on what will make the most people happy and drive them to subscribe. It might be as simple as Pop Neutrality and UI upgrade to start. Once that is done, use A/B testing if possible to drive gameplay features. And I would focus on what makes the game great at Low Pop. Its a no brainer to me when its High Pop, but the trick is making it functional when theres not a bunch of people on.
  3. Im worried about your blood pressure, if a game gets you this worked up Id hate to see what happens in RL. From this side of the table it looks like Allied Whine Brigade, but I really dont care to argue with you. There are only a few active forum whiners that bemoan how bad their side is getting screwed. I say get over it, the only thing I really want fixed is lag deaths. Thats where things get really unfair. Allies have their group of players that use it very well, as Im sure Axis has theirs. If my equipment isnt as good as the other side, then I should try and learn how best to use it, or go to the other side. Count to 10 before you reply - and have a beer!
  4. Im sorry, what are you sick of now? I lose track of all the reasons you are quitting the game (but are still here). Seems like Allies put up a nice fight last night.
  5. Im not sure I would use the word captivating to describe my first couple of weeks here - and I dont mean that negatively. Game was great, but I died so many times. If you dont like a challenge this isnt the game for you. Its been 10 years and Im still learning every day. Onboarding for new players is going to be crucial.
  6. yes the key here is to get quality equipment from somewhere other than a camped AB. Especially hard if you are trying to get a high visibility 88 out of an AB, even in the early stages of an attack.
  7. Axis = Bad guys? they MIGHT be good guys? what kind of garbage is this? I play Axis because when I started I played both sides, then an Axis squad (1775RDF) took me under their wing and taught me how to play. I STAY axis because of my squad (Blitz Kader formed out of 1775RDF). Doesnt mean I have ANY affiliation of affinity to historical Axis behavior. Pretty weak post Quincannon.
  8. Hey Selvender, glad you found a good home. I didnt realize the 7 day auto kick was in place for new recruits that come into the host squad. That might be a little fast CRS. Let me know if we can help you again Selvendar - you know where to find us (Blitzkader).
  9. This has been happening for me lately as well. It always correlates with enemy being near. I just assumed it was our new version of EWS.
  10. Selvendar makes great points. Rats I sure hope you are doing some followup with your new signups (that pay) to get their feedback. Its priceless. I've held off on talking about one point that Selvendar alludes to, because I dont have any solutions to offer. But the line "Just a bunch of grizzled veterans having a grand old time camping FRU's and spawn points and just generally abusing new people" is pretty appropriate from the Noobs side. There are people who have been playing this game from the start who know the map by heart, so they know where the frus are going. They know the alleys and rooftops. They know all the exploits. Explaining to new guys the other night that being in a great defensive position and not moving was actually a bad thing is kind of wrong. Obviously you cant tell vets to dumb their game down, but for this game to get where we all want it to be you have to attract, and more importantly KEEP, the new blood. Having a 6/1 KD against noobs is bad for the game. When I look at my stats and see Ive killed the same guy 6x in the last 5 minutes, I know I might have just cost us a subscriber because that person probably was frustrated as hell and couldnt figure out what was going on. Its not the graphics people come here for, they want good gameplay, and to often we (the vet playerbase) spoil it for them, however unintentionally.
  11. Thats the wrong answer OHM. Heres what I posted under the topic new player retention - which should have gone here anyway. Do we need to Crowdfund another position - Social Media Coordinator? In todays digital world there should be no reason the website isnt always up to date with the most accurate information. Whats the current state of the map? A quick short recent AAR to give a browser a flavor of the action. Games in Intermission which means... New Campaign starting X/X/X so get your weapons ready! Email blast letting people get ready for new Campaign. Etc Communication is the life blood of a business. To often struggling businesses cut marketing and comms first since they have trouble tracking the tangible revenue generated from those positions. This game absolutely cannot afford to be lacking in those areas. And Xoom if you are spending your time doing this, believe me you are costing yourself money. been there, made that mistake.

  13. What a strange coincidence, I've played this game 9 years and have NEVER been sent a message to logout in game. I posted my above comment today (which totals now 16 forum posts over all these years), not sure what the issue is with the comment, and voila, I get a message that Im offsetting and showing through walls and stairs. This was in Rethel a few minutes ago, I wasnt in any cps to be on stairs, and wasnt showing through walls since I was basically running through the streets to get to the AB. Amazing timing I guess . . .
  14. Brave post Blimpy, because you absolutely had to know this would be turned around on you as someone doing it as well. Games had a lot of issues lately. I had someone kill me in a cp yesterday that moved so fast I couldnt turn fast enough and this was someone I heard coming so I was prepared. And it wasnt the teleporting jump either, my computer rendered them smoothly past me but about 3x the sprint speed. And yes it was someone considered an "expert". My guess is the experts are just better at utilizing some of the games flaws. Dont know why anyone would cheat, that would be boring wouldnt it!
