  3. It's on your end because i can go to sleep and come back and my dudes still behind the door of the red building. Can you post your full and complete DXDIAG so we can review your drivers and installed components? (Type dxdiag in the start bar, click save all information, copy paste everything which will take a few posts but we need it all) more then likely its a driver confliction or a Microsoft provided driver. or something simple is set wrong =)
  4. maximum allocation size is 2048MB for the engine. Just like the recognition of a single core, there is nothing that can be done about this with out totally abandoning the engine.

Processing is more important then anything else in this game. and when most modern processors pack 8~16MB onboard cache, your 4400+ only has 1MB (thats 512kb per core) it'll really put a damper in your bid'ness =p You could in theory slap a X2 6000+ in it for as little as 30$ used and net a "okay" performance increase, but it won't be a night and day difference like your seeking. I've run this game on a Geforce 6200LE 64MB Turbo cache video card in tandem with my X4 955 @ 3.8Ghz and it ran decently well, Video isn't the problem. It's the engines restriction to a single core's worth of processing power at any given time that creates everyones lag. and there is absolutely no way to fix it besides abandoning the engine and starting all over (sorta worked themselves into a hole with this one) Best o' luck
  6. setting your default allocation unit size to 10,000k instead of the standard 4196K that i'm guessing you did when you first formatted your hard drive will decrease loading times tremendously, even on conventional HDD's.

  9. it's packing 400 cores so on paper it ought to be enough and its at 600mhz. ram amount varies though which tells me its shared with the system ram, which isn't to bad of a deal these days considering the DDR3 standard. It'd run it, but don't expect blistering frame rates with all teh candy on and sprinkles falling from the sky though.
  10. ww2ol created lag isn't going anywhere with in the next 4~7 years if CRS's previous track record continues. hah you know ww2ol is being split into two seperate worlds? a FPS style call of duty server, then the main server (which im sure will be desolate soon after the world splits) I think they've decided creating a whole 'nother game inside a game is a better idea then attempting to fix the major engine issues they've created over the years by themselves *shrugs*
  11. Do you have a AMD CPU? i think i remember the dual core optimizer or something like that being the fix.

  15. 5870 is a whooooolllllee nother beast compared with your 5670 duce. Your 56 is packing 400 "cores" His 58 is packing 1,600 "cores" Thats like 4 of your video cards horsepower packed into a single card. My 5770 just for reference has 800 cores. 1.31 added way more complex infantry models and such. which really hit the CPU load hard. This game can only utilize a single cores worth of processing power at any given time and its become more demanding then whats available. So basically every one is getting bottlenecked by the crippled utilization of the processor The only solution is setting your visual player limit to "low" or "medium" on your laptop i'd probably go with low visual limit (its under the connection tab in the settings/preferences menu) since its a 1.6Ghz processor.

Do you by chance have on-board video on your mainboard? that is a strange problem, i wonder if your onboard video (if you have any) is C@#k blocking the video card or its set as primary? oh when the game is actually working for you i might try and set the visual player limit to medium or something and see if that helps. im still rocking 10.10c drivers and working great. Theres really no sense in updating drivers if your main game is ww2ol. Hell the engine barely supports 2004 Era Hardware capabilities, so anything new ATi is putting out or enabling or fixing in there drivers isn't something ww2ol uses at all. Now Mahduce you see why i don't "Future pay" ww2ol. No sense in it if your not guaranteed the game is still going to work for you in a few months time.
  17. did you download a fresh full installation of the game and then try re-installing it that way? http://installers.wwiionline.com/wwiiol0001333.exe But i get that problem to some days. have no idea what causes it though. are you using a wireless connection? thats what i suspect causes it for me.
  18. lol thats because its 100% total B@# s@#t some one blew out of there butt one day. Besides does that man have any idea how long it takes to defragment 4,800GB worth of storage? Let alone a single 2.0TB drive. i tried defragmenting a 1TB drive before... I gave up after the third day of 24 hour non stop defragmenting. was even using O&O "speed" defrag lol
  19. "Cost Effective" I'd probably go with a AMD Phenom II X4 or a older series Intel i7 series processor. Remember no matter what your still limited to the single cores worth of processing power. so there won't be a radical difference between a 223$ Core i5k processor and a 130$ Phenom II X4. Matter o fact i've seen it myself with the exact two processors. Mine was actually running 3fps higher in the same battle looking the same direction from the same house (Built my buddy's brother a new computer) But mines running 3.8Ghz while the i5 i think is 3.3Ghz Man they are insane on almost every other game out there! Simply Stomped my processors a@# in GTA4 and ARMAII So if all you play is ww2ol. then even a Old Pentium 4 with a high clock speed will do you just about as good as a i5 2500k. But if your out there playing the latest and greatest games then i'd totally invest in a bad a@# processor. GTX560 is Ultra Overkill for ww2ol. My gal games on a 7900GT-KO and it plays just about as well as my system with a 5770 albiet not as smooth and no 60+FPS at times. its always in the 35's. But still the graphics on this game blow chunks (be honest with yourself there) and all the lag we all see is a direct result of the crippled CPU usage on the game engine. You can already max the graphics settings out on even a crapp'ish computer. its setting the visual player limit to High that lags people out. you just run out of available processing power with it set on high.

  22. problem is with the outdated engine. it only utilizes a single cores worth of processing power (Setting affinity to a single core can net you a additional 2~4FPS) while having the workload that would need a dual core or better. RATS keep stacking content on a crippled engine and trying to do things to a game engine thats already tapped for resources. Theres also no planned "fix" for this issue according to CRS (talk to DOC) so basically as it stands right now. A 45$ 2005 Pentium 4 641 Cedar mill @ 3.8Ghz will do Just as well as your current 380$ i7 processor. You've probably got your visual player limit to medium or low. While hes probably attempting to run High player vis limit. Anybody no matter what the processor or how dank is going to lag with the visual player limit set to high with how the game stands right now. I bet you'll get the exact same FPS @ 1920x1200 as you will @ 1280x1024. lemme put it this way. Running EyeFinity mode (3 monitors set as a single screen) at 5760x1200 resolution gets me a whoppin 3fps lower then running at a standard 1920x1200 even in extreme battles the FPS is in the 20's (which is what its at with a single screen) So what you all are seeing is the Video cards frame rates being limited by the crippled processing. You'll get 110fps in the field because "Ain't S@#t around" but you'll only get 20 something fps because there are about 100 objects to track at any given time and how the engine is currently set up.. it's just to much for a single core to handle. it worked great when the infantry had no detail or geometry, tanks were pretty much plain 3d models and the CPU didn't have much of a job vectoring or doing Rasterisation with the old old models back in 2005 era sort of deal. even in 2009 with the older infantry models the game ran great with the 128 or 96 people (what ever the max vis limit is) But now the rats have gone off and tried to make more complex infantry,tank and aero plane models, which is a hell of a lot harder on the CPU in terms of Rasterisation, and theres completely no back-culling (cutting out polys you don't actually "see") but kept that exact same 2001 game engine in tack.
