  2. had a look at some of those badger cheers. Although they dont have the monitor included which would add another 100 quid to the price. Think i might go with the E8600, do you think thats a good choice? Thanks for the help.
  3. imac G5 PPC, the logic board died and was quoted upwards of £500 to replace it. So you think a intel E8500 would be better than that AMD processor? Does it matter that its not quad core? Im thinking of going with XP now due to various reccomendations, and so will probably tone the RAM down to 4gigs. I've got a budget of around £800 which is roughly what the spec above came in at on pcspecialist.co.uk Thanks for help!
  4. Well as the title suggests, im investing in a PC gaming rig for the first time after my mac has recently died (rip). Being new to PC's im not entirely sure what kind of specs I need to run this game amongst others, such as arma2 and what not. Here is the current rig Im looking at: Processor AMD PHENOM II X4 945 3.0 GHz SOCKET AM3 8MB CACHE Memory (RAM) 8GB CORSAIR XMS2 800MHz - LIFETIME WARRANTY! (4x2GB) Motherboard ASUS® M4N78: DUAL DDR2, S-ATA II, PCIe x16, 2 x PCIe x1, 3 x PCI Operating System Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium 64-bit + Windows 7 Upgrade Voucher (£86) USB Options 6 x USB 2.0 PORTS (4 REAR + 2 FRONT) AS STANDARD Memory - 1st Hard Disk 500GB SERIAL ATA 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (7,200rpm) 2nd Hard Disk NONE RAID (HDD 1 & 2) NONE 1st CD/DVD Drive 22x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM 2nd CD/DVD Drive NONE Graphics Card 1GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTS250 PCI EXPRESS 2nd Graphics Card NONE Sound Card Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme Audio PCI Express Power Supply & Case Cooling 700W Quiet Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan (£59) Processor Cooling ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER 64 PRO PWM QUIET AMD CPU COOLER (£19) Basicly I need to know how this rig stacks up against your typical gamming pc. And should I go with Xp or Vista? Thanks for the help.
  5. Hi there, Was interested in purchasing a new macbook pro and was wondering what kind of performance I would expect from these two setups: 15' 2.53ghz, 4gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics 15' 2.8ghz, 4gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 512MB Would I see significant improvements with the 9600m GT 512MB that would warrant the extra ££? Thanks for the help.
  6. haha cheers mate, I didnt know they were that bad . I will probably end up getting a new imac then, or maybe a macbook pro depending on the finances. Thanks for your help .
  7. Hi there, Since my current imac G5 PPC is refusing to run this game it seems Im in need of a new mac. However the situation Im in means a laptop would best be suited to my needs. This brings me to the question as to wether the macbook 13inch would run this game, and if so what kind of performance would I be looking at, including under bootcamp. I'm looking at the MacBook 2.4ghz 2GB with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M. I'm not sure wether this video card would even be able to cope with the game or not? Any help would be appreciated!
