  1. Thanks fellas, that solved it. I really appreciate the help!
  2. Check if "tooltips" under preferences/user interface is enabled or not (should be enabled). I had exactly the same issue and this solved it for me.
  3. Hej all, I just bought a new computer and have some trouble. When I move the cursor over a unit or town the names of brigades or types of units will not display. I have checked the preferences but obviously I'm missing something. Any pointers?
  4. thank you!
  5. I have 8 Gb and Vista 64-bit and it runs fine. I have a few problems with getting Vista 64-bit + WWIIOnline to run with my Logitech G11 keyboard but other than that it's ok. Make sure that you MANUALLY check each and every of your devices, gadgets and whatnot for the latest 64-bit drivers though.
  6. Time for another adventure with the new computer . I have two problems atm. 1) When I get in the game Track IR works according to the settings. But just after a few seconds it feels like it is moving in syrup. Instead of responding quickly to my headmovements it behaves like "Ok... lets see... that dude in front of the puter... wants to move is ingame head....up....and...left.....riiiiight....we better....get going... then". When I exit the game track ir behaves like in syrup. I quit Track IR and relaunch it... voila! it behaves like i want.... until I get ingame again. 2) When flying and I push my CH figtherstick forward it behaves like I'm throwing myself on it and the plane almost points it nose straight down on minimum joystick input. This is NOT the case when I move the joystick in other directions. Huh? I had none of the problems on my old computer so it must somehow be connected to the new comp and/or WWIIOL. Any ideas or suggestions? Possible suspects 1) Almost every setting is changed compared to my old computer and I now have the SSE2 extension on, but does it have anything to do with this? Number 2) above feels a bit like the lasso bug and if I recall correctly SSE2 is connected to that. 2) I unplugg my G11 keybord before launching the game due to the fact that if it is plugged in it will block the other USB devices. Does this somehow mess up the other USB devices? I'll try SgtSpoons workaround when I get home and have the time (and patience) to do it. 7. CJ pulling the plugg on the G11 and plugging it in after game had launched worked like a charm. I suspect that SgtSpoons workaround works the same, albeit slightly more sophisticated, way. Cheers
  8. Hi all! Today I got my brand new computer that has Vista 64-bit. I can log into the game alright and got Track-IR working. However when I try to config my Ch Fighterstick, Ch Pedals and Saitek x-52 throttle the game does not recognise them. They work alright when I config them in Vista. Any ideas on sollusions? Edit: I dumped my old ps/2 keyboard got a Logitech G11 as well, that could be a possible suspect?
  9. Well it turned out that my 1 year old daughter has tampered with the trim wheels (which I never use - I prefer my x-52 throttle) causing the weirdness .
  10. Hello all! My CH has worked flawlessly until last week. When I tried to take off in a 110 C4/B i through itself hard left as soon as I took off and I lawndarted. Checked the config and the joystick/WindowsXP had uncentered the stick making it indicating a hard left when it was centered. I reconfiged it and... from that moment everytime I draw left on the joystick it responds instantly and very hard. Everytime I try to steer right it is like the plane is flying in a see of syrup. When I reconfig the joystick and try it in the configurator it responds the same way. I have tried to unstall the joystick but nothing helps. Any ideas or suggestions? Is it my WindowsXP that is borked or something (and in that case what) in the joystick?
  11. Thanks for the feedback guys! Now I know that I won't get disappointed .
  12. My computer nears retirement after three years of service and a replacement is going to be bought. I'd be grateful for feedback from the collective wisdom of the board if there are any "no-no's" in the config or if I can get more bang for the buck. 13. Back at it again. And Spoon, don't worry about the tone of your post - I'm not easily offended. On the contrary I'm very thankful that someone is helping me out here. "if you did it correctly, your keymaps for right brake and right clutch will both read "joystick two x-axis+" this is pretty much the only place you will ever need to use the "half axis" functions, I think. [except maybe to remap the tracks under "trucks" for the skdf7 and skdf251c for a much tighter turning radius.] now you will be able to steer tanks.." I did this and I can steer. Thanks. "now one tip for easier tanking.... remap center brake to your inverted throttle. to do this, double click to remap the "center brake" function. now hold down the control key and then move your throttle up and down on the x-52. if you did it right, your keymap for center brake will read "!joystick two z-axis" [or "!joystick two slider one" I forget exactly which the x-52 throttle is read as]. see the exclamation point ! at the begining" Yes I could to this but... it took me 5 tries, including one reload of program, to get the exclamation point there, holding down the Ctrl key every time. I also have a very hard time to get the keymapper to note the FOV hats on the first try. Or the keymapper got the FOV hat right but didn't let me leave the setting until I moved the FOV hat a few more times. Same goes with every other key that I try to map. Keymapper doesn't seem to respond until a tried a few times. I have no problems in game, however. Thanks again Spoon!
  14. Thanks again Spoon for your reply. I'll try to remap the keys again when I get home from work.
