  1. During battles, I often pass by dozens of dead corpses on my way to the action, and I look at those corpses and I see all of the weapons they are carrying. That got me thinking. When supply runs out, in a sense, your supply of manpower runs out. This is inaccurate because many times in WW2, men went into combat without weapons and were forced to utilize captured or dropped weaponry. Since you cannot spawn into a facility without a weapon or ammunition, the amount of people that can spawn is drastically reduced because supply is dictated by the number of weapons. It is often found in history that fewer weapons exist then capable men. Soldiers in real life wouldn't be told that they couldn't fight because there were no guns for them, they would find weapons themselves. So doesn't it make sense that we should be able to pick up weapons in this game? When soldiers are killed in this game, they become statues frozen in death postures on the ground. Their supply goes to waste, because it is no longer usable. If there was an option, rather, to search the corpses for weapons or supplies, and then a place to deliver them so that they could be used later on, think of how more realistically a war effort could be waged. Think of all the soldiers who want to fight could now have an option if their ammunition runs out, or if their supply of weapons runs out who could now find a weapon on the ground to continue the war with. Do you think it is a good idea to implement these features? Please offer suggestions if they come to mind.

  3. I'm confused. My forum ban is obviously up, (it was due to ingame actions) but I can't log in and play the game. What is up with this? I want to get back and play, but crappy over-extended ban has still got me stuck in gamers purgatory.
  4. When I joined the battle, the German forces had already advanced from the NE of town, taking the Air Field and the North AB in the process. I rushed out to meet them, and amid the ruined buildings overlooking the NAB, brutal close-quarters battles were fought. Soon, the German line began to harden, as we soon found the area surrounding the NAB to be targeted by mortars, tanks, and machine guns. The situation worsened as the battle progressed. The German forces began to push the french soldiers back with their combined infantry and armor assault. Now, the battle was fought outside of the French spawns, where men would rush from their starting positions and within seconds were face to face with a formidable German attack. Supply ran out, and the courageous French soldiers mounted a determined defense armed only with rifles. German air support began to arrive as well, bombing allied positions and armor spawns. Buildings were turned to rubble, and the fighting soon resembled the rattenkrieg of Stalingrad. Soldiers were sent strait into the fray, to man crumbling defensive lines or seek out human prey. the proximity of the buildings overlooking allied spawns in addition to the fact that the germans had control over most of them, added with the armor and air support caused a fearful slaughter in which dozens of men were downed every few seconds. Olive green french uniforms mixed among the blue-grey of that of the germans soon littered the battlefield. Allied air or armor support was nought to be seen, and under siege by a large German attack, the French infantrymen put up an astounding defense that caused many casualties on both sides. But alas, the final French spawn was soon captured, and surviving soldiers either retreated into the woods around Bertrix to fight as guerillas or regroup in a counter-attack, or awaited their final fate in the army barrack spawns. Stukas strafed the allied forces advancing from the MSP's outside of the city, and once they were destroyed, the battle for Bertrix was finally over. The final death toll was this: 32 or more Germans to 16 or less deaths (I did not bother to count how many times I had died, but I often killed 2-3 Germans per life) Most kills were with a rifle in close quarters where the germans often had submachine guns or numerical majority. Though the final result was rather tragic, there are few battles I have fought in that I can be more proud of. Analysis of the Battle: The defense work of the French soldiers was solid: they fought inflicting many casualties on the German forces, even taking out tanks with hand grenades to due a lack of anti-tank weapons. However, due to the rapid increase of German numbers; superiority of German supply; coordination of German air, armor, and infantry; and lack of Allied intervention, the defense crumbled after 15-20 minutes in a savage battle of attrition. The cause of defeat could be pinned on lack of Allied unity and coordination, as individual soldiers failed to cooperate and form a solid defense line; and allied armor or air support was nought to be seen. Meanwhile, the German forces had planned their attack well, with a combined air-infantry-armor assault against the lone French infantry force. Allied fighting was admirable, as the defenders proved stubborn and unwilling to retreat; yet allied strategy was poor, as several brigades were slaughtered due to lack of Allied intervention. Allied air fields were not far removed from the town, and could have slowed the German assault long enough for a new supply to reach the town and hold off the German armor and infantry. Poor Allied strategy was to be the end of Bertrix. __________________
  5. I'm so pissed off that I missed this. Stupid Pacific time zones, I live closer to the East Coast. Did someone film clips from the action, or is that not possible on the trainign server?
  6. Scopes are 4 n00bZ: I snipe with iron sights. And with an Enfield. None of that nasty Kar98 business, lousy optics, or outdated lebel to screw up my aim. I once took out 10 or more Germans as they were running towards my building from high grass in a field at the edge of town. They looked like grey sticks, but I fired one shot into each one, and they straightened up and fell over dead with a .303 british round somewhere in their body.
  7. I want them to put in either Belgians, Russians, or Poles. I mean, France is fun, but by the end of 1940, they were toast. Brits and Russians would be better, unless we just transferred all of the French army to partisan fighters, or to the (pipsqueak) Belgian army and Polish army. Have one big allied power, then two smaller ones to supplement it. And we need Resistance fighters too, people armed with older, obsolescent weaponry who can lay mines, sabotage bridges, blow stuff up, the like. Also, they should be able to pick up weaponry so they can increase their armament. I just want an excuse to use a mauser when allied... And soviet guns rock
  8. there's only a .2mm difference in the bullet sizes 7.5 French vs. 7.7 British And while the British sights are better, the rifle is hampered by the uber-slow reloading time and I can say the MAS has better combat sights as compared to the target sights of the enfield. Enfield is great at sniping when you're lying down or shooting from a concealed position, but when you're running through ruined buildings and in close quarters fighting, MAS has better sights. Have you ever noticed how the German mauser is horrible at taking down targets in this game? Very accurate, but When I played German, I had to shoot allies twice to kill them.
  9. Once more, enfield is accurate, but action is slower than the MAS's, and the MAS reloads faster. MAS is better in combat particallity wise.
  10. Sign me up for the 1st division, this sounds like epic win how does this all work by the way? Do I just go to training server? Which Army should I join for the 1st Division? I've never taken part in anything like this before.
  11. I'm sure male enhancement products will fix your joystick problem. Don't worry, they'll get it up in no time.
  12. Enfield is fantastically accurate, but lower rate of fire, and I can't handle it as well anymore.
  13. I named guns from this game, smart aleck.
  14. New Squad independent of AHC being assembled! please comment on this thread only if you are interested in joining. All useless posters will have to answer to moderator Smokeeye More Info: Squad will act independently of AHC when most members are present, and will create its own strategy for defeating the German army. Head of Strategy and Head Commander of the Brigade is Gunny55. When Gunny is not online, or most squad members are not present, squadmembers should feel free to fight in battles directed by the AHC. Otherwise, our unit will develop new tactics and make use of irregular warfare as often as possible. EDIT: People can be Leftist sympathizers or non-leftists who do not criticize left wing doctrine and be a member of the unit. People who care nothing for politics may join if they bring with them new ideas on how to wage warfare. People Who wish to have more say in the allied war effort, as well as those who are skilled at organization can join as well. The unit wishes to act as its own unique force, who hopefully influence allied war strategy for the better. If AHC sees the effectiveness of the squad and its tactics, then maybe the main Allied force will learn from the success of this independent brigade.
