      Seeking Squad Leaders!   04/09/2017

      Soldiers!

We are seeking Squad Leaders to volunteer their squads to help us test the upcoming Squad Forums system. This system will integrate squads who wish to participate into a self-sustained "forum within a forum." You will be able to add members to your squad, assign permissions, and create forums/calendar events on your own. The idea behind this system is part of our commitment to support squads as a integral part of our community. This service will be offered free of charge to all squads of World War II Online upon launch. Our goal is to offer all of the services a squad off-site forum can offer but free of charge and tied in to our existing forum service. So what do you need tested? We need willing volunteers to test the whole system - make forums, post threads, assign permissions, etc. The idea is to have several squads giving it a test run to point out any flaws before we launch it publicly. What are the requirements? We are ideally looking for medium to large squads - Ideally ten people or so plus, but smaller squads feel free to apply - and a willingness to use our platform. It's important to note (as of now - these may be included at a later date) we are unable to convert posts from a private forum if your squad previously used one, and you (or your XO's and recruiters) will need to assign individual members permissions. It is entirely possible that in the future this system will be automatically linked to the game's squad roster, but as of now developer priorities are elsewhere (1.37 and steam, w00t!) How do I sign up? PM me ( @Dodger ) on the forums, or email me at dodger@playnet.com - Please indicate your squad name and how many members you have. I will get back to you with more instructions.

      Recruiting drive.   04/16/2017

With the anticipated influx of new players on the heels of this summer's Steam release, there is a reasonable expectation that forum traffic will increase. I'm looking for volunteers, not just to moderate, but to help answer new players' questions or direct them toward the correct answers. The forums may be a player's first contact with the game and we want to ensure that it is a positive experience. A happy player is a player who sticks around and the more new players we can retain, the more resources we will have for development.
With that in mind, we are looking for current players with a positive attitude and posting history. PM me if you are interested.

  3. Greetings, This post is going to go over the initial set up of Discord and how to quickly start using voice communication. Also, there will be a FAQ section to help users finely tune their Discord Experience! Step 1) Please go to http://www.battlegroundeurope.net/discord Step 2) Once you have clicked on either the Allied or Axis Discord link you will be directed to a page that will provide an invitation to the appropriate Discord server. Please accept the invitation at this point and time and it will direct you to log-in/registration page. Step 3) If you have a Discord account you may enter your log-in information at this time. If you do not have an account please click on "Register" and you will be provided with information on how to successfully set up an account. Step 4) If you completed the previous steps successfully you should have entered the appropriate Discord server and will now be able to communicate with other players. The example provided displays WWIIOnline - Axis. If you choose to join the Allied server it will say: WWIIOnline-Allied. Step 5) Once you have entered the server you will see your nickname/Microphone Icon/Headset Icon/User Settings located on the bottom left portion of the server. The microphone and headset icons will allow you to mute/un-mute each as you desire. The User Settings icon will allow you to adjust a multitude of options within the Discord server. If you are continuing to have issues with the initial set up process please try: Discord "HELP" Guide: https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us
  4. Only have 15 votes thus far.. so we could use some more. Alpha and Delta seem to be winning out thus far!
  5. Please keep voting/commenting. The more response we get the better!
  6. CRS/WWIIOL is planning to create t-shirts in the future and we are looking for player input on which T-Shirt designs you enjoy! These T-shirts will be given as prize rewards for upcoming activities in the future so we want the T-shirt to be something players will want to wear. You have the option to pick more than one T-shirt design so vote for the designs that you prefer. Special thanks to zippo/HATCH for helping to put together the designs!
  7. It was since patch but I think I figured out the issue. For some reason, maybe my mistake, it was using my default graphics card instead of my Nvidia. My fps is now 50-70. Thanks so much!
  8. I am also having this issue. I've tried a lot of the suggestions on the forum thus far by my fps is extremely low. I am averaging 4-6 fps in town, and only 15 or so outside of town. I simply can barely play as I am dying before I even see the enemy, and after I die they were standing right by me. I tried an uninstall/reinstall, place graphics on best performance, took off automatic updates, etc. Any other suggestions?
  9. Yes, my load times were dramatically increased. I was able to move around to different parts of the forums and read different posts much more easily. Good stuff!
  10. Step 1 to enhance GHC: http://www.axishq.wwiionline.com/axisplaynow/axis_ocs_application.php HC wasn't mean to do everything, and even if we were, there simply aren't enough active at the moment. HC can not drive all frus, guard fbs, guard spawnables, guard AB, and ensure the map is in good hands at the same time. I also can instruct the player base on what to do until I am blue in the face but ultimately it is their decision on what they want to do. In other words, I cannot make them do anything they don't want to do. There are already fixes on the way by the RATS to change the method of supply/flag movements and that should help with HC burnout as they (assuming a bit) will mostly become field commanders and can spend more time on the tactical level.
  11. This poll and the wording used is less than professional. Even if I thought this would work, which I am not convinced, I would have voted no. How about we act like mature people representing the highest level of player involvement and create a worthy poll since this decision effects the entire playerbase's gaming experience. There is literally no way to ensure all the requirements of an agreement would be met to ensure this worked. If it isn't hard coded into the game there is no way to ensure moves/actions outside the spirit of the agreement aren't made and therefore it is likely to fail as past experience has showed us.
  12. Not sure how well itll work but I applaud trying anything different to try to get more players in game!
  13. And I am asking you, if people can play free accounts and be competitive throughout a campaign and into the "end game", what is the incentive to purchase a subscription?
  14. So, just to be clear: You basically want to be able to play the game, with the majority of content(not all), for free. I didn't see a suggestion to be able to purchase these items with real currency as some f2p games have as an option. However, you want the veterans of the game to be able to donate to CRS to keep the funding up while people can basically play free accounts with nearly the same content. Questions: What is the incentive for anyone to subscribe to the game if the free 2 play model isn't much different than the subscription model? Why do you think you should get to play a majority of a game's content without paying anything towards their work, at all? Basically, there are two forms of Free 2 play models. There are the models, such as WWIIOL (IMO), that use free 2 play as an incentive to try out the game in hopes that you enjoy it enough to purchase a subscription. or the free 2 play models where you purchase extra equipment, etc. in mini transactions. Regardless, whichever is chosen the corporation/company making the game is still a business and needs funding in order to keep the game running and profitable. From my understanding of your post, and since mini-transactions are not a part of WWIIOL, where exactly would CRS benefit from you continuously playing the free 2 play model? Yes, the game needs more numbers but the majority of those numbers can't be free 2 play. Basically, I equate this to receiving Federal Government benefits from everyone else's tax money. If the majority are receiving and the minority are contributing it tends not to work.
  15. First, for the most part HC already has the ability to set up missions, points of attack, etc... just like every other player in the game. The only thing we don't have the ability to do is set supply restraints on each mission or squad. I would argue that HC burnout and lack of HC already has to do with having too many things to do in game. Yes, it is mostly do to the responsibility of flag movements but it is running FRUs, guarding spawns, bunkers that also make it a tiresome job. In my opinion, this is where a quality squad shines and how the HC system was meant to be. Squads discuss strategic plans with HC command (which towns we want to take, etc) and then the squad operates on the tactical/battle level. HC's current job basically should be to make sure there is a strategic plan in place and that the squads/players have equipment to operate said plan. Marking, ZoCs, guards, fru drivers, towing, etc.. are all things good squads can do with the assistance of HC or without. Basically, it takes leaders whether HC or not, to do what you want to do. My thoughts on the matter.
