  1. BUMP because it's worth it!
  2. I got the IP part of the error message but no reference to Port I don't think. Got it a couple days ago but it did not prevent me from logging in. However, it was on the same day as a bunch of us were having problems logging into game from the weapons selection screen. I am not sure if they are related or not.
  3. OK, I think I'm good. Thanks guys.
  4. Thanks Pete. Is overclocking critical to making the game work well? I'll look into the i5 2500k but might price me out of what I can handle. Is the AMD CPU a real problem? I'll inquire tomorrow before pulling the trigger. Thanks for the advice.
  5. Yep the one I am getting is from microcenter actually. Going in tomorrow to tomorrow to pay 'em and get it built. FX 6100 Black Edition 3.3GHz Six-Core Socket AM3+ Boxed Processor I ditched the best buy approach and going to have my own built as you guy suggested.
  6. Last question about the rig and I'll buy tomorrow. Is there a major performance difference between the GTX 560 and GTX 560i? I've let you guys influence me and went ahead and decided to build my own. Guys are right its a lot cheaper. Thing I'm looking to buy is: i5, 8GB Ram, Win7 64bit, 1.5TB Hard drive, Asus GTX 560 OR 560i. 560 is a little cheaper and wanted to make sure that does not make a major difference. AMD Box FX-6100 if that matters. Gophur said in the last thread that would work but I should be ok. Sorry guys I was not the computer guy in school but the history guy. Thanks!
  7. Thanks Gophur this is helpful. It's not a question of a budget, someone on my wife's side of the family works at a store and is buying one for us essentially so my influence over what it is is limited. It will be used for more than gaming so I wouldn't go the pure gaming computer route...yet. So, it is the one above. But I do like your suggestions and on down the line when I can buy one just for fun, I might get something like the one you linked to. Tried to send PM but didn't get through to you. Had a question for you. Thanks Gophur
  8. Hey guys, just so I round out this thread because I hate to leave it hanging this is what I am going to go with for now.... It's an i5 10GB Memory and has an the 6750 DDR5 Video Card. It's the i5 I posted about earlier that they'll upgrade in the store. I know a "build" is better but I don't have that much say in what we are getting since a family member works there and this is the best we can do. I think it should work form what I read, at least acceptably for this game. I did check and I can upgrade the thing further. At some point on down the road I'll buy a genuine gaming computer but that's for later. Wish me luck chaps.
  9. What about this one. Here are the specs. I can get one of these three that I've mentioned and can upgrade from there in a few months. 10. I've decided to try and look at something different. Here are the specs. I think this one is a little better choice. Thoughts? (i5 not i7 but main thing is the video card). 11. I was reading some reviews of the ibuypower computers-not so good. It kind of concerns me. But they do look more than adequate that is true, at least by the specs if I understand them correctly.
  12. Thanks for the advice. I'll have to see if any others fit the bill from the best buy website. Unfortunately its got to be from Best Buy. It's interesting I asked if it was integrated and they said no so I'm confused now. --Yank
  13. Sure: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Essentio+Desktop+-+8GB+Memory+-+750GB+Hard+Drive/4602964.p?id=1218496160271&skuId=4602964 Just so folks know, this one is not my preference. I don't like Best Buy. But it's a gift and we're paying about $100. Has to be from Best Buy (long story don't ask LOL). But I want to make sure it works with the game and I can upgrade it. So, let me know. Again, I appreciate the help a great deal. --Yankdog
  14. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. The 520 being a low end one concerns me a great deal. I agree its far cheaper to build. But this is one we're going to buy at a store for more reasons than I can go into right now. I assume I can upgrade it later right? I'm not the only one making the decision or else I would certainly have it built. So, the specs in my original post, will it run the game effectively? Thanks --Yankdog
