  1. Update: Since the new patch, I haven't had a single CHTL Changed one thing after a CHTL, in the new network settings. Went from automatic to primary and not a one CHTL since... Great work Rats!

  3. After a few CHTLs today, I went on the test server to see if I could "trigger" one, mainly because the Rats get a better log from any events on that server. Since most of mine happen, in or around towns that have a destroyed look, I began destroying one, after a few trips in armour and a bomber, I wanted to detroy a few buildings with a sapper. So got to setting up an UMS. On the despawn (UMS setup) didn't get the usually smooth despawn cam (aka death cam) it was a very choppy ride. Now back at the spawnlist, I had to wait for it to come back up, usually after a death/despawn there isn't any delay in showing me the spawnlist. That was a rather long delay, which made me think on how my CHTLs came about today and about many others (in and around Stavelot to name a place). Had just spawned in, and saw over chat 2 MSPs went up on the allied side, nothing special about that in it's self except they both went UMS (no idea if any enemy MSP went UMS at the same or near the same time) Now if I setup an UMS, and it's only me there and I get a rather big delay/lag spike, in getting updates from the server... How much can the same delay/lag grow to, if more go UMS inside of almost the same time frame, adding to this the updates you're already getting from 20-100 people, driving, shooting, running around and what not? More to the above is the distance to me and the servers and so on, am in Europe normal ping time to the servers (via KFS1's tools teultest and checknet) around a 155-190ms (tuel smaller packets) 700-900 (the big one) and 210ms (checknet)... Connection type DSL 2048/128 So what I am asking... Is there a connection between CHTLs and UMS, as in more than 1 going active at the same time or shortly one after the other? The client, with the extra trafic of the 2-3+ UMS going up plus the distance delay, think it has lost the connection to the game world and trigger the CHTL message! The client in this case (I think), not having enough patience for all the data to arrive. Having gotten the CHTL message (the pop-up), after the 45sec freeze, yet seen the game go back online (game world/chat greyed out), could even interact with the world. Had the "connection lost to chat" yet chat after the freeze continue and so on... Hope this make any sense, especially to the Rats and in the hunt for the cause for some of the CHTLs. [EDIT] At least that's how it looks like on my end of things.

  5. ADSL 2048/128** (Denmark/Europe) On primary 522-1338 byte all 170ms 23kb 900ms On secondary 522-1338 byte all 150ms 23kb 770ms **ISP dropped the 2024/256 which I forgot, order it changed from 2048/128 to 2024/512, should according to the ISP be up and running in a few days.

  7. Getting a new one now... And this one really suck. 2. Which type of CTHL do you have? D: A 'freeze' after about 45 seconds and unfreeze message "Chat connection lost" + "Connection error#10057" in chatbox, but chat is still running though you can't type, game also resume but you can't do anything as the CTHL pop-up is active. Clicking OK closes game.

Did you have these CTHLs before 1.23.4? No 4. What is your internet connection type (dial-up, dsl, cable, fiber)? DSL 5. What are your download and upload speeds (if known)? 2024/256 6. What is your CPU? AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 7. Does this CTHL happen in a consistent place in the game world? No 8. Does this CTHL happen in a consistent situation? Yes/No... Mostly happens when flanking around towns in armour, big flanking manuvers 7-10km range if not more... 9. Does it happen on the Training server? (the training server logs extra information on our side that KFS1 and Martini can look out) Not tested yet. 10. It is consistently reproducable (we're looking most for ones that are)? Some days none, others days 1 or 2 twice a day, lastly on some days they just happen time and time again... eg mission #1 same for number 2 and so on. 11. Are you available between 3 PM and 6 PM US Central time to help our team test? (This would be done remotely) Sorry, don't think so... 12. Is there anything else about the CTHL that seems relevant? Tried all "known" fixes, at first it seems fine for a day or two and then they are back :S

  10. 1.23 Death delays... but had no CTHL's, but a few CTDs over the first few patches until... 1.23.3 CTHL's happens, but still few in numbers and at rather random times. 1.23.4 CTHL's at least twice a day, until today... 3 missions in row, all cut short with CTHL's. Lag very noticable, huge spikes. All drivers up to date, WinXP home fully updated, everything is... No autoupdates running, no unwanted programs running and so on.
  11. My fathers Dad, was a fisherman with his own fishingboat. Boat, minus crew but plus skipper, was seized by the germans shortly after the occupation. The germans supplied the boat, with maps of the location of the minefields they had layed, in the area of where he and his boat was put to work in, throughout the whole war. Many of said maps was copied and in the hands of the resistance on the same day, they had been delivered. Later some of those made it all the way to the British. My mothers dad, he will most likely take many of the secrets with him into the grave. A few of the things I do know is, that... He was captured by the germans along with at least 2 others, some time after the 20/21 April 1943 bombing raid on Stettin. As they was in that town, doing the "he who can not be named"s birthday bombing raid and that he saw things in that raid there can make him cry even today, this is one of the very few things he has talked about. One of the things I have found out on my own, by tracking down the tattoo on his arm, is he got moved from (gestapo?) prison to Auschwitz concentration camp in '43 and then again moved in '44 to another concentration camp (currently unknown) and liberated by the Americans in april '45. When I talked to him about it. He said than only 3 of them, survived the camps, but have not told about how many of them there was to begin with, nor which camp they had been moved to after Auschwitz, only that they got liberated by the Americans. And he asked me, if I would please try and track down the other 2 who survived. Which I sort of did, one died years ago, the other one doesn't have any official record, starting shortly after the war and he was declared dead by the courts in '46.
