  1. Yesterday I was with a friend defending a town from being capped. I saw EI run into a depot and my friend went in after him. He checked the entire building and no one was there, but the depot was still being capped. I ran in and checked the first floor corner and there he was plain as day. I killed him, but even after I killed him my friend still didn't see the corpse or the blood all over the wall. I heard that soldiers that are invisible don't show up until they shoot, so this guy really seemed to know he was invisible because he didn't shoot my friend that ran right next to him over and over again and he must have been hoping I couldn't see him because he didn't try to kill me either. My question is if this is something that people can't control and if it just happens, or if they are actually doing something to make themselves invis?
  2. Just figured it out. If you just type in wwiionline.com without http://www then it doesn't work. I am able to type in any other website just by typing google.com or cnn.com and it automatically fills in http://www. but not with wwiionline.com. If I am not mistaken this is something to do with DNS.
  3. This is very odd then. Both my brother and I tested it from work and neither worked, and now I am trying it from home and it isn't working either.
  4. I spoke too soon. It redirected once for me but now its not working again.
  5. That's odd. I am using firefox here at work, and both IE and firefox at home as well. I had my brother check too and it is down for him as well using IE. It displays an error saying "Problem loading page"
  6. I'm not sure if you are aware of this but when you try to navigate to www.wwiionline.com it doesn't redirect you to www.battlegroundeurope.com anymore. Most people don't use that url anymore, but some of the older players might. Anyways, it is an easy fix so I just wanted to point it out.
  7. I have had this problem spring up in the last month or so. What happens is all my 1st person audio stops, for instance my gun shooting, my footsteps, my reloading sound, etc. All other sounds work fine so I can't seem to figure out what is causing this. I have an Asus Crosshair 790fx MB, and up until about 2 weeks ago I was using the on-board sound and it was happening then. Recently I bought an Asus Xonar DX and the problem persists. I am starting to think this is something with the game, but my squaddie that I play with daily doesn't get this. He says his 1st person sound cuts out from time to time, but all he has to do is move and it comes back. Mine doesn't come back, and sometimes it will continue from one mission to the next. Any clue what might be causing this? It really does take away from the immersion. P.S. I was using the latest sound drivers when I was using on-board, and I am using the latest drivers for the Xonar DX too.
  8. Yeah I remember there being an issue like this where towns would flicker in the air, and that was due to the z-buffer. Thanks for the answer.
  9. This is something I can't ignore. The entire screen looks like one big glitch. There has to be some acknowledgement of this problem and some effort put towards correcting it. It really does make the game look terrible, and makes picking out moving targets really hard as everything is moving.
  10. I have had this little graphic glitch as far back as I can remember, and I bet I am not the only one. I have never been able to get a decent answer what this is, or if there is a way to fix it, but it really ruins immersion when you entire screen is one big glitch. Look at all the trees and how they flicker. Now this kind of problem has been around for years so it is known, but is it getting any attention? Just an example of something I would love to see done over eye candy. This was taken from the 88 commanders binocs dbl zoomed. What the heck is this? (I know this is probably more suited for the support forum but I am getting no help there) _ANKUqS8GwA
  11. I have noticed this as well. I just started playing again right at the end of 1.30 and third person footsteps are gone for me. There has been many times when I have been looking out a window and someone comes tearing up from behind and shoot me in the back without hearing a sound.
  12. I just played the beta when I got home from work at around 5:00PM Eastern. I took a break and am trying to play again. It says that a new update is needed, but when it tries to download it says unable to connect to patch server. This has done this before and I had to dload the full installer. I don't want to do this again. Any clue what to do? Revised... Actually after trying again it just says "Download failed. Please retry." It then goes to a troubleshooting webpage. I am using a SOHO Firewall and am wondering if some port I need may be getting blocked? Updated again... After several tries it did connect and an update is being dloaded. I'm not sure what this issue is but it could be more of a problem once 1.31 goes live.
  13. Wow another one I was experiencing that I didn't no others had as well. I would go from 50-60 fps to 10-15 looking at the same terrain with binocs.
  14. Hmmm interesting I thought this was just me but I noticed the same thing. I was using a sniper rifle, and was trying to sight in a player laying on the ground. I couldn't fine tune the sight at all. It was very jerky.
  15. I like many others experienced the "falling through the floor" bug when spawning in. I fell from the top floor of a depot to the bottom floor and died when I landed. It also happened when I spawned at a ms, but only if I moved right away after spawning. If I gave it a second and moved carefully after I spawned I didn't fall through. The other major thing I noticed were the sound bugs. I believe it was just the sound effect when bullets were whizzing by that had a problem. It almost sounded like it was playing backwards, and ultimately it sounded like some odd laser or something. I also experienced some CTHL's, CTD's, and other random problems. I do think 1.31 is a great improvement, and is definitely a step in the right direction, with the exception of adding tracers to lmg's. I understand that something had to be done with lmg's to make them less of a smg, but adding tracers is going to kill it. As soon as you fire the whole world knows right where you are. I did notice that the muzzle flash is a lot higher, and it does shake a lot more when fired making it less accurate, but I think those changes are enough. Making the ammo of a weapon a detriment to that weapon makes no sense IMO at least.
