  1. Hi , Running W8, the game launcher (playgate) still starts ok, I can log in. When I try to "play" the campaign, A minimized window appears for a second or so (dos not show up in taskmanager though), then dissapears. I don't even get the WWIIOL loading screen. I just upgraded to nvidia 337.88 drivers, but these work fine on W7 PC. Dxdiag attached. Thanks in advance for your advice. unfortunately my dxdiag is too much long for this post. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 6/9/2014, 12:43:04 Machine name: PIETER-DESKTOP Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.140330-1035) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: MEDION System Model: MS-7848 BIOS: M7848W08.20C Processor: Intel® Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM Available OS Memory: 16340MB RAM Page File: 1583MB used, 31140MB available Windows Dir: C:\Windows DirectX Version: DirectX 11 DX Setup Parameters: Not found User DPI Setting: Using System DPI System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent) DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled DxDiag Version: 6.03.9600.16384 64bit Unicode ------------ DxDiag Notes ------------ Display Tab 1: No problems found. 2. Learning to spot an enemy from depot roof?
  3. What always gives me <10 FPS is any form of anti-aliasing. If I turn antialiasing off in my nvidia-settings, I get normal FPS again. Have you tried switching off anti-aliasing?
  4. I just got a 1600*1200 tft screen. My previous one was 1280*1024 max resolution. However in WWIIOL-settings I cannot choose 1600*1200. 1280*1024 is still the max, as it was with my previous screen. Any way to fix this? thx!
  5. theres a free trial (2 months worth). Only thing required is your email address.
  6. And I thought I was alone with this weird bug :-) I just restart the game though and then the fps are back to normal when i spawn in. Bug doesn't happen all the time neither. About 1/10 chance of it occuring at startup.
  7. Last time the SRES-statistics showed 101 active members. (thats members with actual playtime last campaign). 95% are in European timezones. I'm not sure how many are playing atm. 1.25 needs fixing asap.
  8. Enderum, when update-issues occur, it's best to download the full client (will be latest version) from the website. No updates required if you install that one.
  9. Yep. Me too. I'll check for burning planes/tanks next time... I thought it was just at "random" times.
  10. Hi ppl I just got a new rig which is giving me lots of tech issues. My first priority however is copying my keymapper-settings from my old machine. Will copying the data/cmfl-folder give me my "old" keymapper settings on the new machine? I don't seem to have an inf.cmfl file though... thanks!
  11. I don't know a structural solution, but in the meantime you can just let a fan blow into your pc-case.
  12. you can first uninstall your current drivers by selecting: control panel -> system -> hardware -> device manager -> display adapters -> rightclick on your card and select uninstall

  15. Check out gnashe's site. It has a fix for it: http://www.gnasche.com/ww2ol/support/main.htm
  16. I got new pc some weeks ago. After I finally resolved some soundissues, my PC now clearly underperforms fps-wise. I got latest drivers of everything. AMD X2 4200+ ASUS 7900GTX SB xfi 2 gig ram 10-13 FPS at best. (=unplayable and worse than my 4 year old rig) In offline mode I get about 20-30. Turning off sound gives only minor improvement. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
  17. yep thats the one I found. It doesn't give info about bios etc though. So I'll leave everything as it is now, since my fps are adequate and so are my 3Dmark-scores. Thanks though.
  18. Well it has not been explicitely said before, but to me it was clear quite soon in the testing/fixing process that the cause wasn't WWIIOL. 3Dmark2005 score was way too low as well. However, the good news is that I got the fps back up to standard +-120 offline. I still have to test for longer time online. I made one sortie and despawned after a few seconds. FPS were OK but it seems I CTD'd after despawn. I think I saw some posts in here about that issue so will check later. I will play/test thoroughly later when I have time. The thing that finally restored my fps was a bios-update. I couldn't really find the settings people were recommending me to check/change, so I went ahead and updated the bios with a more recent version. I included my current dxdiag here. I installed the latest drivers from NVIDIA, which have caused issues for some. But since it now works, I don't dare change it anymore to 84.21 :-) Anyways I want to thank the WWIIOL community and all who have followed and posted in this thread!!.
  19. Thanks wkill check.
  20. Thanks. I did have decent fps with current rig at some point (120 offline). So I'm not giving up on my tech issues yet. As far as general performance is concerned, I agree with what you're saying although up to 1.23, I've been having decent fps with my old rig (P4-2800, ATI-X800pro, 2Gb). 1.23 however, killed the game on my old rig. 1.24 promises general performance improvement. I've seen it happen with 1.22 (It might have been 1.21) so I'm hopeful.
  21. The problem is being narrowed down. This is a likely candidate. Apparently I can't disable it with my mobo though. Anyone had any problems in WWIIOL of which he/she is absolutely positive they were caused by this feature (CnQ)?
