  1. you wouldn't happen to have a link to working drivers for windows xp 64bit? edit: never mind. found the 8.7 open beta drivers for xp 64
  2. under vista 64bit (don't know about 32), if you run with xp sp2 compability you get that issue.
  3. that's the best one I know of. Haven't used the newer versions but it should still be good.
  4. what kind of issue were you having with that combination? I've got the same setup and I'm currently having lots of CTDs and I'm trying to figure out what the problem is.
  5. so, I'm kinda out of ideas about this... I used to be able to use the scroll wheel on the joystick to change my RPM settings when flying, but after installing vista 64bit I've run in to a really strange problem. I can map the scroll wheel just fine in the key mapper, but when I try to use it in-game it only works when using the scroll downwards. To REALLY make sure that the game recognizes the scroll up and down I opened the chat and it outputs the keys I'm mapped the scroll up and down to in the x52 profiler. so, the game recognizes the scroll up and down keys and I can map them in the key mapper, but only scroll down actually does anything. and it works fine when pressing the keys on the keyboard that I've mapped both scroll up and down to. I could use some help with this one before I go insane.
  6. running vista 64bit with a 4870 card and although I haven't played any longer sessions the game hasn't crashed on me yet.
  7. I'm kinda hoping that someone else has run on to this problem so: I'm running Vista Business 64bit and figured I'd try some recording on my new computer (with fraps). I'm able to record at a half-size in 60 fps in Guitar Hero 3 with an fps drop of ~1-2 every now and then, but when I try it offline in ww2ol my fps drops to 1-2 and stays there for as long as I'm recording. oh, and it's with no sound. edit: got a quad core (Q9450), a 4870 and 4gb ram. any idea?
  8. I made a program myself that shows my stats and I can switch the view so it shows TS info instead... there are a few bugs and odd things going on that I have to check out before I will release it in to the wild, but when it works it's very nice. edit: oh and I'm using the G15 and I'm very happy with it.
  9. sounds like it looks like this replaced that one because one of the wheels was also farked. not sure if the blinky thing was something I could have fixed as I was already annoyed by the wheel and just wanted a new one.
  10. no need for NT compability with the latest patch. I would check for stuff running in the background like google search bar or something that's indexing files and using the hdd. from the rats I'd love to know how the new engine is comming along.
  11. the sound card is probably ok, but it'd be much easier to just buy a new computer than to upgrade as you'll need a new motherboard for the new cpu and that means new ram as well, plus a new graphics card and all that stuff will most likley require a new power supply and that's basicly a new computer. it always sucks to spend money on computers, but it doesn't feel as bad when you buy a new computer as you know it'll hold longer than the fix you'd give your junkie computer that will die sooner or later anyway (and you'll most likley not be able to use the parts you bought to another computer after that either).
  12. I don't suppose they/you could leave out the "what it will mean to the game" part as I assume that's the part gophur means? and just write down what they're working on? 1.25 is't very exciting for me as I pretty much only fly so it would be nice to read about something else than that (1.25 and toes that is).
  13. good evening apples, I don't venture in here very often but I rememer reading this thread a few weeks ago and figured I'd ask if we're getting the interview?
  14. same here, but it's the world of armored glass in ww2online... not a bug but more of a stupid feature.
  15. I agree with the NOD32 users. I currently use McAfee on this computer, but it's only because I'm lazy.
  16. My latest log might give some more proof... Tue Jun 06 16:47:08 2006 network election of 2 addresses: Winner: oh, and I was CTD free this last one.
  17. 1. Do you have a CTHL (Connection To Host Lost) or a CTD (Crash To Desktop)? CTHL, it says so. 2. Which type of CTHL do you have? A. A 'freeze' after about 45 seconds and then the CTHL dialog? 3. Did you have these CTHLs before 1.23.4? Yes, but they are more rare now. 4. What is your internet connection type (dial-up, dsl, cable, fiber)? adsl 5. What are your download and upload speeds (if known)? 8/1 6. What is your CPU? Intel P4 670 3.8ghz 7. Does this CTHL happen in a consistent place in the game world? I fly almost all the time and I get them pretty much everywhere 8. Does this CTHL happen in a consistent situation? Almost never while in combat, but rather when I'm RTBing or inbound. Have had it when I tried to break up a dogfight once. 9. Does it happen on the Training server? (the training server logs extra information on our side that KFS1 and Martini can look out) Haven't been there since I started CTHLing. 10. It is consistently reproducable (we're looking most for ones that are)? Not sure. I fly when I get them. 11. Are you available between 3 PM and 6 PM US Central time to help our team test? (This would be done remotely) Almost always starting monday. Edit: the 5th that is and I'll do anything 12. Is there anything else about the CTHL that seems relevant? The game seem to still be recording a few seconds after my game freezes or after I get the CTHL message. I usually get a MIA or RES in the stats for the sortie when I CTHL, but last night I was heading in a downwards angle when it froze and the stats gave me a KIA and that doesn't happen unless the game reports that I hit the ground, right?
  18. cool, didn't know about that. are you using the A25s or A24s? Read about a joint Swedish/Norwegian traning this year where a Norwegean Lep 2A5 wen't through the ice and a few soldiers died. makes me kind of happy that I did my service the year before. people still died though. the guy who slep next to be got hit by a train on his way to an exersice.
  19. we got a modified version of the Leopard 2A5 here in Sweden... very nice tank indeed. Sweden is btw. the only country with the Leopard with compulsory military service that have those people training with tanks so that's pretty cool... even we usually get top placements in the Leopard world cup (yes, there is one =)) the pic is taken from the gunners sight during a night at the fireing range. the gun wasn't loaded at the time though =) oh, and the greeks did tests on all the "famous" tanks before they chose the Leopard and on the Challanger they couldn't even find where to put all the ammunition it was suppose to be able to hold =)
  20. Fujitsu-siemens Amilo A amd 64 3200+ (I think, might be 3400) 512 mb ram (sort of what keeps me away from playing on it) ati mobility 9700 haven't tried the latest version of the game and I'm not sure if my omega drivers are up to date, but I had some graphical errors that made some models look strange (you could see the triangles and some other stuff). the game did run other than that... and since I don't have a whole lot of ram it was too slow to fly so I haven't tried that. btw. will the new graphics engine change the demand for tons of ram or is that because of the games nature?
  21. haven't posted anything here before, but I just remembered that I've done a movie =) the next best fighter
  22. Got some info on the Swedish version of the Lepard 2A5 also known as strv 122 here in Sweden. I acctually got the part of the manual with the facts, but it's 30 pages with everything from chassi hydralic system works to what kind of filters there is in the NBC system. Guess I could write down the most important stuff, unless someone want the whole thing =) edit: I also kept the manual they gave us on how to kill stuff with it. It's 80 pages of info on where to aim to use the laser for range determination, where to aim, how to use the reserve system where you have to calculate everything yourself and so on. Don't think I have the patience to write or scan that though.
  23. allied bomber pilot when they started doing day raids and before the LW was defeated. read an account of a gunner who when he looked back saw that his best friend didn't have a head anymore. also, imagine bailing out and just hoping the enemy doesn't strafe you in the air. and if you get down safe you have to avoid capture and interrogation. so many parts where you can just wait and do nothing to save your own life.
  24. got a 16:10 TFT on my laptop and it doesn't look _that_ bad strechted out (I don't have the option to play with black borders on the laptop). would be nice to get widescreen support though.
  25. when the thing got started I had a pretty good time... until I saw the town changing ownership to UK, hear AI fire and screams. At that time we were all wondering what was going on and couldn't leave our cover. When we later got around to the RR station we made an assault (also fun) and killed the first AAA. We then continued to make our way to the AF along the RR tracks. Found a vicker on the side with his engine blown in front of us and a couple of EI. Marine45 took care of the AI and as we made out escape we took fire from the bridge behind us. I got hit but survived while our LMG got set up and covered us until we were safe. After that we just tried to make our way to the AF and got there just in time to see whoofe getting hammered by black poofs (not from the vicker!). I tried to get on the plane but got killed and I think the rest of my squad met the same fate.
