  1. I seem to recall it being something about Groove, I have Office Ent and I omitted Groove, no problems with the game.
  2. Thanks guys. Layzboy, I am going quad because I want the power for video and image processing. I did go back and forth on that one, but in the end quad core won out. As for the video card, I value silence more than oomph. As long as it gets the job done... and if it doesn't, I'll pass it on to my son and get a new one.
  3. I am finally going to replace my aging PC. I am not interested in overclocking, I want a quiet system that is capable of running wwiiol at a decent framerate. What do you think? 4. Get yourself a video card. Your onboard video is stealing RAM from the game. Plus, make sure all your drivers are up to date.
  5. If you installed from the Battleground Europe CD there would be 20 or so patches to apply. Your best bet is to uninstall then download the full installer from here http://www.wwiionline.com/scripts/wwiionline/downloads.jsp And make sure all your drivers are up to date.
  6. Your best option is to uninstall what you have and then download the full install from here: ftp://downloads.wwiionline.com/wwiiol0001242.exe
  7. email bloo at playnet.com include as much info as you can to identify your account.
  8. Listed in order of performance, best first. 7950GTX $400 7900GT $300 7900GS $200 I would go with the GT
  9. You can download video drivers from http://www.nvidia.com Did you try with sound off? And you don't CTD with it off?
  10. If you are talking about widescreen aspect ratios then yes you can play Battleground Europe on a widescreen monitor, but BE does not modify your field of view to match the wider screen. For some resolutions you have to change the wwiiol.cfg file to get them to show.
  11. You obviously have too much money. Give some to me. The EVGA GeForce 7950 GX2 SuperClocked card is top of the line. Overpriced, but that shouldn't worry you. You could come down a notch and spend the money on a bigger LCD, or a decent joystick/throttle/pedal combo, or a new car...
  12. Why do you hate round cables? They are better for cooling btw. Other than that, looks good.
  13. According to this review Mac Pro Win XP performance isn't all that impressive. Plus your choice of video cards is severely limited if you want to run OSX too. http://www.anandtech.com/mac/showdoc.aspx?i=2832&p=1 You would be better off with a Core 2 Duo E6700.
  14. I beg to differ... http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/multimedia/display/audigy2-platinum-ex.html Any time you go over the max your sound card can handle you are going to see a significant degradation in performance. The processing normally handled by the card will have to be done by the CPU. To compete with the latest box on the shelf at EB Games CRS has to constantly grow and improve all aspects of the game. That means demanding more and more from your system. After all when you buy a new release you don't expect to be able to run it at the highest settings on a 2 year old PC. Add to that the fact that for most people their first impression of the game is the graphics and it is understandable why CRS is keen to improve the look of WWIIOL. edit: oh and you should set your vis player limit to medium too :-)
  15. Isn't the Audigy 2 64 voices not 128? Try setting your sounds to 2D, 64 sounds. Then try turning 3D on.
