1st Marine Raider Battalion

220 posts in this topic

The 1st Raider Battalion, , was formed in 1998 by a group of U.S. Military veterans (most Marines) as a ground combat compliment to Air Warrior’s VMF-214 “Blacksheep”.

The Marine Raiders have seen action in Delta Force, DF2, DF Landwarrior, BF’42, BF2, DF Blackhawk Down, Joint Ops, America’s Army, and of course WWIIOL.

The 1st Raider Battalion was an original members of the AHC’s Royal Marine Division, specializing in commando raids, amphibious landings, ambush and other unconventional operations.

The Raiders left WWIIOL in 2004. While a few members remained to serve the allies in other positions, as a unit, the 1st Raider Battalion as no longer active in WWIIOL.

The Battalion has returned to WWIIOL and is recruiting in an effort to bring the WWIIOL unit back up to combat strength.

Now entering our tenth year of service as a virtual combat team, our approach running a virtual squad has been honed over the years, and through the many, many battles Raiders have taken part in. Be it recruiting, administration, training, or live action, the Raiders get it done.

Our goal is to further enhance a player’s WWIIOL experience by further immersing a player into the experience of serving in an elite combat unit during the W.W.II era. To provide that feeling of “camaraderie” and accomplishment many of us experienced in the real world military.

The insignia of a Marine Raider is earned, not issued. Applicants will be expected to complete a Boot Camp, and Advanced Training program before becoming an active duty Marine Raider.

The life of a virtual Marine Raider is not for everyone. If you’re looking for a “right now” front line team to join. There are many good ones out there.

But if you enjoy a challenge, think “outside the box”, and want a gaming family to be part of for years to come, then you may already be a Marine Raider.

You wont earn the Raider insignia today. But I can promise, that when you do. You will feel a sense of accomplishment. A sense of pride. WWIIOL provides the stage. We’ll provide the purpose. Fun, and camaraderie will be the result.

On this day in 1940, as Winston Churchill takes the helm as Great Britain's new prime minister, he assures Parliament that his new policy will consist of nothing less than "to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime."
