Well for what its worth I changed my settings for the net code (beta) and I have had no problems. I will keep my fingers crossed. :}

Apparently this crashing bug is not mac specific, they are working on it. It has something to do with changes the made to the server that the client is objecting to.

Netcode deal does bnot help me at all. Bug is intermitent, but more so than good. Hope there is a fix soon, (not like the map problem of the last patch), as this might force me to quit till it is.

I'll keep my fingers crossed but please ask the powers that be for an honest update as to when Mac users can play. This does not hamper play like the useless map deal, this prevents it.

You only need to post the section "Thread XXXXXX Crashed:"

It's all the same bug, and it's not mac related, its on both platforms. Some message is being sent by the server that the client can't cope with; however it's random as to whether it crashes or ignores it.

OK, I found the ctd everyone is getting, its a bum message from the server that the client doesn't do anything with other than crash. I sent the documentation of the bug to MARTINI and RICKB. I bet they already know what it is. It's a message coming from the strat server in response to something happening in the game world; what I can't tell, but there's nothing you can do on your end. Either its a server fix or a client update.

Good job finding the bug. Hopefully they will attend to it asap.

If you could keep us informed as to progress I'd be grateful. I also have some overcharging issues that need attending to, (sent an email to boo.xxx).

So, for me at least, overpaying for a game I can't even play is not a great situation and if it is going to be a while , I have to pull the plug.

Enabeling the net code beta has resolved the CTD problem for me and another friend in game. Im running a Mac and he is running a PC. Just a tid bit of info for anyone interested.

It's hard to say if its the same bug, but the rats changed something on the server yesterday. I couldn't get the bug last night (which is not definitive proof but a good sign).

Well since upgrade patch I now ctd continually and also now receive a "Network Error" message when trying to get back in game which usually fails for a couple of times. Also my screen fragments like shards of glass sort of horizontally....???? I dunno but maybe I should dig out the ol Atari games.

The network error is on the server end, I think it will be fixed soon.

What does the crash report say when you ctd?

Do you have the game resolution the same as the monitor resolution? How big is your monitor?

Heh never mind I found it but not bein a computer whiz I have no idea how to read it but in any event it is too long to paste in here

Resolution on both monitor and game is set to 1280 x 960 and I'm using 24" Apple wide screen

Usually when it crashes the CrashReporter app comes up. Click on Report button and copy just the section starting with (where # is 0,1,2... etc)

(then a bunch of lines of programmer gobbledegook up to a blankline)

The rest is immaterial.

Also, have you tried downloading the ATI Displays app:

http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/mac/atidisplays4-5-7.html

Not sure if it will help or not but it does have some other optional settings.
