Well, I could be cynical and say your problem is Vista...but I Won't......Wouldn't be surprised if it was......

But what intrigues me is it's with Every Game you play.......

Is the Game just CTD'ing or is it a Complete Reset??..or does it shut off the Computer completely....

If it's actually shutting down th ecomputer...then you need to open up your case and make sure ALL of your Fans are working.........I had a similar problem Last week......My System was shutting down every Half hour or so..and when I played a game it would shut down sooner......Opened up the Computer and found one of the Braces for my Heatsink/Fan over the Processor was broken and the Heat sink was only Partially on the Processor Chip...and in the process of messing with it, I broke the other Brace......Because I'm poor...my Heatsink/Fan Assembly is now being held onto my Processor Chip by Zip Ties....

Turn off computer, reset all memory and pci cards. If it stll happens, pull out 1 stick of memory then try it with the other out. Could just be a bad stick, had it happen before. Its a process of elimanation. Sounds more hardware problem to me. Worst case its your vid card over heating.

Sounds like a bad stick of ram to me also. Like he said remove one stick and try it then swap sticks.

I have this exact same problem. ONLY when Im playing the game. THe computer Freezes completely and I must power the computer off. I have no fix either. ALTHOUGH, my problem seems to only occur if I fly or am riding in a plane.

I get a very fast sound loop of last sound encountered. Repeating very rapidly- BUT video has stopped well before sound. In most cases the system locks and there is a couple second delay as the sounds playout and then loop.

Edited- I noticed mine occurs when I look around. Moving through different views... never happens on map screen. BUT it happened twice on the GUI.

Have you tried testing the RAM with memtest86? Or running an Orthos DC large FFTs or blend test for a few hours?

^^ I Hadn't... How do u do that?

The only suggestions I had seen on this were get a new video card. But seeing the video card the OP has, this isnt a video card issue. Im quite excited! Not for you problem, but that the identical issue occurs and its not for a lack of video card power.

Ramms are new but tested anyway...they tested good.

You think it could be a sound conflict ?

Also I am not sure if the card is overheating..I have the Xtreme Cooling/water cooled... and it will happen 5 mins after I turn on computer and enter any game...still lost on this.

Finding the problem is not always the easiest. I had a similar problem after I bought a new system. I tried just about everything without luck. All games locked upp like it does for you, not just WWII.

Finally I found a forum that gave some hints that the chipset on that motherboard just didn't work well with some ATI cards.

I had to change the motherboard to another one.

Not suggesting that it is but sometimes different hardwares just doesn't play well together.

Have you checked bios settings to see if voltages, frequencies and timings are as they should?

Download Orthos DC and test using a blend test. Use Core Temp to test the temperature of your cores as you test. Leave the test running for atleast an hour, if you can run it overnight for 6 hours. If the temperatures go over 70C then you have a problem with your cooling. If it hits a memory problem then it will come up with an error or your computer will freeze. This means your system is unstable in general. Reduce all speeds to stock. If that doesn't work then test the memory 1 stick at a time.

Lex First issue. Windows Vista home :)

check the temps. I use a high end AMD and the hottest I get is 48 - 52 C. Nice artic coller fan thats it.

ATI - not a big fan had loads of problems with ATI but test it. Remove ram one stick at a time or two if paired and see how you go.

Check your temps and see how hig it gets and when. Could be anything.

If all else fails , If you have a spare bit of cash buy a cheap sata drive install XP and load game only and see what happens . If same result then it is defo hardware problem if not it is OS / software problem.

LEX - you are the unluckiest person I know with computers for the 5 years I ahve known you there is always a sound driver or graphics card problem that causes CTD's or god knows what else.

Next time I am over give me a bag of cash and I WILL buld you a PC that rocks your socks baby. :)

ps - if all else fails email Treand and tonyD :)
