SQUAD CHALLENGE REALISM SCENARIO #1

This Squad Challenge is Very Basic and Simple. One Objective to Achieve. there are 2 Venues, one for Large Squads, and one for Small Squads. this Challenge will be a Ladder Compitition, as long as your Winners your in, if you lose, then your Out and try again for the next Squad Challenege.

this event is Restricted to ONE DEATH and a ONE HOUR Time Limit on this Challenge. the Event will be broken up on the Number of Squads who enter (if 8 squads enter, 4 allied & 4 axis, we'd run 2 one day and 2 another day, those winners would be scheduled to fight on another day, just like the NCAA basketball Ladder)

Tenitive Date for Round 1 would be MAY 24th a Saturday,

So here's the 1st Squad Challenge ................................

The Battle for "Notre Damn de Verdun"

What if the squad thing is in those silly plane things !

u should do one with RDP bombing... guys drop bombs and escort and the other team intercepts

then switch

and tally up the score

Seeing the actual numbers laid out, I realize that the winner will probably be determined at least partially by which squad has more of its core players available in the time zone in which the event is held. Would it be possible to give us two or three time slots to pick from, and when possible match up squads in their preferred TZ?

1st we need to get the "Frankfurt Mission" under our belts ;)

the 1st Squad Challenge may be Infantry Only right now, but as Time progress's, so will the different types of Equipment and Complexity of the Scenarios with multiple Objectives to achieve and multiple pieces of equipment involved in them.

they will Probally be run at the same time as the other Realism Events which is on Saturdays at 2pm CST which is 8pm GMT iirc. thats about as Fair as i can get with the Time i'm available to run them untill we have more Realism Event Team Members that are available to run Events at different times.

there was a Misprint of the Allied Truck, it should have read Laffy / Bedford depending on what Allied Country a Squad choose's.

Shouldn't they be paired with the Opel then?

Also, how is the scoring done?

Time spent in control of the depot?

The 101st is interested, but we want to know a couple more details.

not really, the Opel would get to the Abby before the Allied trucks would, (imo, the opel is Faster than the laffy or bedford) since the Alies are defending, they need to be able to get to the Abby just ahead of the Axis team.

Scoring, Ownership of the Abby is the Scoring. who ever Owns it, wins at the end of the time unit, thats the Objecyive ;)

true opel is a tad faster....HOWEVER 251 is armored with an lmg on it laffys and beddys are easy to kill.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but defending is generally easier then attacking. As a result, if both sides have equal numbers, the defending side has an added advantage and therefore is more likely to win.

Doesn't seem entirely fair in my opinion.

Why not just remove the APC/Trucks altogether? It makes being so far apart pointless.

If you want the Allies to get there first, why not just give them a small head start on foot?

2 invisible /msp positions, so the enemy can't camp the FB with a 251 or ... yeah.

Remove the truck/apc and just setup 2 spawn /msp's 1km either side and hey presto.

Thats why Both team start from approx. the same distance from the Abby. those 2 FB's worked out pretty good Distance wise. if the Allied Side was Spawning into to town and Able to set up Defencive Positions and just wait for the Axis Team to arttack, then yes the Defenders have All the Advantage and the Scenario would have been adjusted for that.

Well ........ if I was playing Allied, i'd be Tickled to death if all the 251's went and Camp'd my FB ........ My Team would be at the Abby Defending it and the FB Campers have made my Objective that mush easier taking Themselves outta the Game ;)

Here's how i see it, the Beddy and Laffy will get the Allied side to Defensive Position about 3 - 5 minutes before the Axis reach the Abby. if the Axis had the Opel, they would get there 1st Probally, and not much Defending for the team playing Allied.

if we made the Opel wait, then the Axis would get Slaughtered trying to Approach, the 251 gives them some Protection on Approach and a MG to lay down some Fire while the exit the vehicle.

The 251 isn't that tough to take out, Take out the MG and take away its Offensive ability imo ;)
