Incremental Flaps

19 posts in this topic

Hi, I as wanted to post this only in the Mac forums. Hoping it would be more efficient. My squadies told me how they would modify the flap settings in BE. They did this by adding some lines of code to allow them incremental flaps instead of the take off and landing flaps. Combat flaps to deploy during dives ... etc. I was told the code is universal to a degree and that it should work on the OS X. I just can't seem to find the files to modify or would guess it could be. Where is the file and what app would modify it?

Copy and paste this in your "~/Library/Preferences/ww2ol/cfml/air.cfml" file or create the file. I am using my up & down arrow keys for this but you can substitute whatever keys you desire. Also the 10.00 equals 10%. You can change the % to whatever you want. Make sure you backup your current copy of air.cfml if you have one, in case there is an issue. Name it air.old or something.

Can you run "joystick and gamepad tester" copy the list of elements and then see what range of values that thumb does?

Hmm, looking at that and a data file I found for another game I have...

...no clue. It appears the functionality of that thumb switch depends on some Mode setting (there are 3), but I don't have a clue how that's set. Maybe its something you have to set with an application or something. Clearly Tester sees it as a range control, but the game doesn't see it.

The only way I think I can do anything is if I had one.

Well the game sees it as a range.. Its actually seeing it on the same axis as the Z-Axis (throttle) so I have to push the slider all the way up and the throttle all the way up in order to get full power..

If I try to map the slider to something in the keymapper, it says "Z-Axis". Same with the Throttle.

Wish I had an extra to send you but I dont..

I guess I'll have to figure out the joystick code. Ugh.

Ah I see

case kHIDUsage_GD_Z:

case kHIDUsage_GD_Slider:

do the same thing. I think the problem might be the game doesn't have another slider like input to use besides the 3 axis'. Not sure where that leads... looks ugly.

I could make it do nothing, but not sure who would be affected...

Important question: does anyone have a x52 that has problems in 1.31 beta mac? People on the PC side are saying having all three pieces (as sticks 1-2-3) doesn't work.

I tried the Saitek AV8R stick with DUAL throttles on it, but when I tried to used each throttle separate, it resulted in only 50% of range. To get 100% range had to use both.

It could be design of stick, or maybe related to 2 inputs using same code?

Now that the files are all hidden, or .dlls, does this even work anymore?

I'd LOVE to have incremental flaps. I just can't find the files you guys specified above.

Help!

ETA: I found the cfml file, but when I added this code, nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

Ah, I got it. I had to copy and paste it within the area it wanted to see it in.

I now have incremental flaps. Thanks!

Heya mate,

Could you elaborate on how you solved this please? I'm having the same problem as you and i can't for the life of me figure it out!:confused:

I've copied & pasted the below code into my cfml file (mine was located in my documents in the battleground europe section, though tried copying that same folder to my program files battleground europe file directory aswell) but nothing happens, i still get 0% or 100% flag choices ingame:

qw

(From battleground wiki: http://wiki.wwiionline.com/mediawiki/index.php/CONFIGURE )

Please help! :(
