CTD on Spawn? We need information.

79 posts in this topic

If you are getting a persistent Crash to Desktop every time, or nearly every time, you attempt to spawn, we would like to get some information to help us find this bug and fix it.

1) What is your Operation System?

2) What is your CPU?

3) How much system RAM do you have?

4) What is your Graphics/Video Card?

4a) How much video RAM does it have?

4b) Are the Drivers up to date?

5) Does this happen Online AND Offline?

6) Does it happen for all unit types?

* Infantry:

* Armor/Trucks:

* Aircraft:

* Ships:

7) Does it happen at all locations?

Thank you.

Historically speaking, when this happens with a specific unit or subset of units, the cause is usually a corrupt sound file. Reinstalling the game is the usual fix for this.

You probably know this already Bloo, but I figured I should make this post just to be sure.

I have done some research and used a program called dependency walker to see what dlls it uses and ieframe.dll is the problem on my system. Did some research and found out that a recent update from microsoft has messed this file up so it will not work.

p.s not sure if mine is 100% CTD per say - it is more that the game just stops working, and windows tells me the game has stopped, and asks me to close program or wait for it to start working again(yeah right). as sometimes i can play the game ok for long/short periods of time, then other times, it just stops working, and wont let me play at all. anway, just FYI.

Things to note: I have up to date Divx and ATI drivers. I just installed the latest patch today, and today is when the problems started to happen. SSE2 enabled. When the game crashes it causes my computer to restart.

Same here. Ever since new patch download. I last about 5 to 15 minutes before getting disconnected from the game server(connection to host lost).

I've tried all ping and tracer runs thru the dos command propmts. All good there. Also checked for all drivers & windows updates, good there too.

FPS is very eratic too. but does not seem to matter when I get knocked off line, sometimes at over 100 FPS? So, it must be a patch problem?!

Thanks

Crash to Desktop EVERY time it try to spawn. Makes no diff if I choose Army navy or airforce or from where I ty to spawn. I see the airfield or base for JUST AN INSTANT and then crash to desktop every single time. Too little memory is the only issue I might have but I doubt that is the problem.

I play - Warcraft, EQII and Lord of the Rings Online with no problems whatsoever. I play at the highest video settings possible in all those games without any problems.

Currently Axis.

Quick update, as i posted above that I couldnt play. I am now able to play the game without constant CTD's due to a bit of luck. I couldnt get FM2009 to work, and someone posted on their forums, to uninstall my graphics drivers, then use device manager on my PC to update them instead. The latest 180.40 Nvidia drivers for my GForce GTX8800 card, it seems, were causing me toruble, so when I unistalled them, and updated via DM (and although my latest version is only updated to 178.13 now)it works, so I am not complaining......for now ;)
