Just to let you know. 1.30 solved my display problems although the display still says 2 (main display). I'm now able to play on osx again woot:) Too bad fps has dropped noticeably.

Well thats pretty random, nothing changed, but if it works. FPS for both clients is random, it should be 10-15% due to Oli switching to a better network stack but clearly something else is gumming it up.

I sent that in to the coders as well are the original stack trace. I can mouse over 10 char names so there might be a second version that crashes now.

I can only rarely get this to happen, however, if you can reliably cmd-tab (at spawn page), try this:

Run Activity Monitor, then launch the game and go online (but stay at spawn page). Cmd-tab to finder at look at AM's memory tab. Note how much free (green) memory is there and report.

Second start up a bunch of apps (Safari, Word, whatever) then launch the game and go online. At spawn point cmd-tab out then quit all those apps, note the green memory in AM, then go back to the game and spawn infantry.

Any diff?

Just a guess and could be quite wrong, but I need another data point to rule one reason out.

Ah wow Ahwulf, a thousand thank yous! This procedure seems to work!

I did exactly as you said - when I loaded up and cmd-tabbed the first time, I had 10 MB free.

Then I quit, loaded up photoshop and pages and a bunch of other things - about 850mb free - then i loaded up wwiiol and went to spawn page, alt-tabbed - about 10mb free - then i quit photoshop and all the apps - 95 mb free.

went back to spawn page, spawned rifle and woopedy-doo I can play again!

Hopefully this work-around will knock it on the head for now!

My FPS seems roughly the same with this patch. It may even be down just a tad, but I'm getting a comfortably 30 most of the time.

Still, I swear something is different. Everything just seems smoother even with a not-so-high 30 FPS....but maybe it's just me wanting to think all of KFS1's code optimizations did something significant, I don't know.

The mouse stutter bug is still with me with infantry, though. Sun also causes massive drop in FPS, as it did before. I've been to scared to test the 10-character name thing, but I'm sure I'll stumble upon it sooner or later.

Not sure if it matters, but I just let it auto-patch for both patches, rather than uninstall & reinstall the new full download.

Looks like that is the same +680 bug others have been getting. Any idea what causes that so I can avoid a similar circumstance?

Argh this code has endless ways to torture me like some mutant waterboarder. This is apparenty yet another way to get the particle list crasher. I fixed one and this new one appeared, like a digital hydra. When I get back from my mom's I will try to get it to happen in my version, so I can figure out this new wrinkle.

If this is a related bug to the particle sorting, it can happen anytime there is smoke or explosions around. I won't know too much until it happens to me so I can see what the new deal is.
