Terrible FPS What settings should I use?

7 posts in this topic

Got a new system a few months ago and when I loaded the game, I got around 40 FPS. Now when I log in, I get that same 40 fps for about 5 minutes and then I drop down to about 4fps and cant play. I have switched between netcode2 and sse2 . I have run both at the same time and nothing seems to help. Any suggestions? The system I am running is a lot better than my old one which never had this problem.

How much system ram do you have?

How much crap do you have running in the background on windows?

Can you post your DXDIAG?

Here is how to post save your dxdiag

dxdiags will show what hardware you have and what drivers are installed, nifty tool for geeks to diagnose computers.

Thanks for the help. I hope this is the info you need to troubleshoot my issue

Turn your in game resolution down, Geforce 9100 256MB isn't even close enough to what you need to spit out 1080.

I'd really consider a video card of some type.

You can use THIS card and it won't require you to upgrade the power supply (another 100-130$) But its more then 50% faster then your 9100. It's a Geforce 9800GT EE

Everything else in your computer seems fine. I'd try to turn your resolution down to 1440x900 or 1600x900 and see if you can't clear up some of that lag you get after awhile (might be running out of Vram and your pc starts to use the system memory in an attempt to keep going.

Dedicated Memory: 239 MB

Shared Memory: 2687 MB

239MB is the memory on your card, and 2687MB is the amount of system ram allocated to the video card.

A "real" video card would have 640MB-1024MB with at least 96 SPU's (its like video card cores). That 9800GT has 1024MB and 112SPU's, i think that 9100 has 6 SPU's if i remember right.

plus that card is at bestbuy, so you can pretty much walk in the store today and get one of them for about 100$+tax and triple your FPS in wwiiol.

I'd easily say with that X4 620 and that 6.0GB of ram, along side that 9800GT you'd see 120-130fps while flying. 80-40fps in heavy battles. (no joke)

I've got a X4 955 @ 3.5Ghz 4096MB DDR3-1600 and a eVGA 8800GTS (112SPU's) 640MB Super Super Clock edition. and i see 130's 140's sometimes 200 while flying. and 100+ on the ground down to 40~50fps in the heavy battles with crazy stuff going on.

But no studders, shudders lag spikes or crashes, runs crystal clean regardless of the fps i'm getting. and since your PC is relatively similar to mine besides your Crap (sorry) Graphics card, its what makes me think that your card is whats causing the problem, especially at 1920x1080 on a 9100 256MB.

Theres some gameplay footage i recorded the other day. You'd expect to see similar frame rates and gameplay if you got that 9800GT
