infantry climbing... is this known?

Infantry cant really climb anything anymore... which causes quite a few problems:

can't get on top of the veh spawn

can't swim across rivers and get to the other side

can't climb onto certain building's roofs

can't climb to the top of the small churches (with those ladders that were made so you could climb up...)

can't get into AI towers

I could go on... is this gonna be fixed ever or do we just have to get used to it?

You can still climb some things forwards, the thing that seems to have been "removed" is the ability to climb very steep surfaces.

Try it with building ruins.

Once there is a single wall standing, try and crawl up that wall (not up the face, but up the "jagged" edge). IF the bottom of the wall is set within the ground rubble (so that the first couple of feet are not at a steep angle from the ground rubble) then you will be able to crawl up it.

If you come to a very steep point, your climbing will stop.

If the first few feet are at a very steep angle, you will not be able to begin the climb.

The issue with church ladders, FB tents and so forth, is the steepness of those surfaces.

Cheers.

very annoying...

limits on infantry play can't be good for the game...what little they actually could do has greatly diminished with 1.31

You can climb riverbanks backwards. Same with some other surfaces.

Didnt make sense to climb some surfaces that were really steep...but really need a climb function for ladders like the towers and the small church

It'll get better I think as time goes on. We like climbing some things just not all things and so to keep you from playing spiderman we had to break a few old climbing techniques.
