Good GunCam Software?

18 posts in this topic

Anyone has any clue on what software I can buy that I record kills on?

Thanks.

I've been searching for one as well. Here's what I've found...

Quicktime has a screen recording ability. Don't use it, gives you maybe 5FPS recording and lags the game by 200% to boot. Really nice stuff....

SnapzProX has a free trial but all videos recorded that way are watermarked. Not expensive and I did manage to get it to wrk though its a lil bit of voodoo to know if it is running or not.

Here's the thread I've followed to now.

http://ishowu.en.softonic.com/mac

This one worked well when my MAC still was capable of handling the game nicely. There is also the HD Pro version which has more vid fomats to choose from and more encoding schemes I believe. Now I don't even want to try it, I get max 45FPS looking at empty sky.

comparable to iShowU, did try and liked it.

Did not try it.

Did not try either.

Ended up using screenflow, there is a bunch of youtube videos on how to get the software free.

It's not as smooth as I expected. I have to cmd+tab the game click the software and F7 to record. Then switch back. Wish there was a easier way but by the looks of things this is the best software.

Great, thanks. That's much easier than snapz and from the results, a hell of a lot better software than quicktime.

Sorry Groog, didn't realize they dropped mac support in the last 2 versions. could be a reason that they needed a brain to work mac os.

Check this forum if you haven't already this specific thread has a small how to with a mac capture recorder.

http://www.insidemacgames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=24138

also with the software VIRU suggests you may be able to build a macro to turn it on and off without jumping in and out of game.

again sorry about the playclaw.

Not mac.

Maybe you should try "Camtasia" or "Hypercam" then,

Again, Can't say whether they are MAC or not.

Good Luck.

There is also a compatibility chart on wikipedia. Doesn't tell you everything, but tells you enough to know that fraps isn't mac-compatible. If only it gave reviews and opinions...

So I've been trying to run ScreenFlow and it drags my performance down so bad I just can't play. Anyone have any tips or should I give up on this program?
