As long as you're aware the game only needs a card which has 1/4th of those cards' power to run well

Personally I would go for the 570 on a price / performance thing. It's nvidia which I've tended to prefer for several years now.

The 570 really does pack a great punch.

Be very aware though it will be utterly wasted on this game. I found that stepping from a 260GTX to a 570 made no difference at all to FPS while playing. Yes it helps on some benchmarks etc and the trees test but in game it actually feels a bit worse if anything or the same once in town in fights.

For other games though the 570 would be a brilliant choice. If you only play this game save your money and put towards a new CPU or wait for the new cpu line to come out this autumn.

Nope, this card will not be just for this game.

I have Cliff of Dover and my GTX280 just does not seem up to par. Mind you I know that game has a long way to go.

i always go with evga or xfx, they both have lifetime warranties.

and try to get one that exhausts the hot air out the back and not mix it with the air that is cooling the rest of your pc unless you have one of those HAF cases.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121432

mixes air and takes up 3 slots. only 1280mb memory.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130687

also mixes air.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127582

mixes air. only 1280mb memory.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121417

exhausts out the back, and has 2gigs of memory.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102918

basically the same as the previous one.

i would go with:

Nice explantaion ghost.

How are the driver software for the Radeon cards. Any conflitcts with this game using catalyst drivers.

I also play IL2 UltraPack will all the mods. It currently runs fine on my GTX280.

I really want to get a nice card to run Cliff of Dover on.

My current system is

Windows7 64bit

8 gigs of G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3 1600

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

Asus Crosshair III Formula AM3 790FX

800Watt PS

GTX280

I know with my board I can get 2 of those cards and run in Crossfire.

Thanks for the feedback.

you can get more economical video cards if your interested in playing direct X 11 games

from the NV 460 or higher and from the AMD 6850 or higher should be faster then your NV 280 video card in any games you play now....

look up game benchmarks for the games you want to play at the resolutions you play at and then make a decision from that....

from your list I'd probably get the MSI 570 froze III then attempt an overclock to 580 speeds....its luck of the draw but for the $350'ish prices on the 570's you most surely should overclock them to get some value out of the premium you paid.

I got a GTX570 and it`s a great card. No problems to run this game 2560x1440.

But when do you notice that you got fast GPU in this game.. Well when you use binocs it will use 100% of your GPU, so the faster the better.

Normally it uses about 35% of the card.

Funny, that ASUS Radeon card, and several other AMD Radeon cards just now showed up to be deactivated. Don't know if they are getting ready to release some newer cards or what.

Probably will just get one of those 570 cards. I have never had a problem from Nvidia.
