Warping????

15 posts in this topic

I've heard the term used in two totally different contexts....so...which do you mean?

I'm guessing warping to a depot from a nearby FRU. It's in the reference sticky at teh top of the forum now.

How to "warp"

1. Spawn from a "warpable" FRU. A warpable fru is located between 400, and 500m of a captured/friendly Depot. You can tell if a fru is warpable by trying to despawn, and looking at where it is reserving your equipment. If it is warpable, then it will be returning you to a depot.

2. despawn. That's right, spawn into the fru then despawn immediately.

3. after you despawn click on ready room.

4. look on the right side of the screen. you will see a checkbox labled "MS available". It will be checked. you must uncheck it.

5. Spawn in again, you will have warped to the depot, saving you a jog onto town. (If you try to change equipment at any point you have to start again because your new type isn't reserved for you there.

Clear as mud???

One extra step needs to be mentioned. You will often hear a call for people to guard the spawnable and get into the CP. When you warp into a warpable depot, you will arrive in the depot building, NOT the CP. You must then leave the building you spawn into and get into the grey CP building. You can not guard/hold the CP from the building that you spawn into. If you stay there, the enemy can capture the CP building. You MUST be in the grey CP to guard it, the same as if you were trying to capture one from the enemy.

Hmm important point to make IMO!

What if all the new guys are gong "WTF is that idiot on about - I AM!! inside the CP!" - and its all just one big misunderstanding.

Good explanation ... proper thing.

But what I'm looking for: not how to use spawnable, but how to set one up.

Does the FRU become warpable when the Depot is captured?

p.s. "In one of the stickies" doesn't help all that much.

does the CP have to be linked with supply(spawnable)?

say if allied cap a CP thats axis supplied(axis town to the east), can allied spwn(warp) in the capped CP?

so, ANY CP thats 400-500m within fru is a warpable?

hopefully these are FAQ's on warping.

How to turn afru and a non spawnable depot into a WARP FRU.

1 - Deploy a fru as close as possible to a depot and cap it (or cap it then deploy fru at v close range). Range limit is around 425m not checked exactly.

2 - Spawn inf at fru, hit escape whilst spawning in and sometimes get insta despawn.

3 - Regardless of insta despawn you will see "RTB - depot name". This means your inf unit is now available to respawn at the depot!

4) - Before you click enter world, realise your default is still to spawn at the fru which we dont want! So go to ready room and on the right - uncheck the "Mobile spawn available" on the right.

5) hit enter world.

Any depot (not city flags etc) can be made into a spawnable in this way although obviously your fru is easy to killed.

Any Depot your side own that is close enough to the FRU is warpable. I think the maximim distance between Depot and FRU is 400 meter.

No, the Depot doesn't have to be "linked". It is enough your side own it, ie has your side's flag flying.

IIRC can you also warp in to an Army Base.

That's why you should call it "Flag building" so people understand that it is the house with the flag they shall guard, not the acctual depot from were we spawn. ;)
