I downloaded the newest Mac OS, just to be safe. First time I logged in i watched the loading bar and saw:

Logging in----------authenticating-------------connecting to chat----------then an error message that went on too fast to read.

I tried launching the second time, and the screen went black, ad before the ww2 title screen loaded, the who screen flaked, went into a blue small checkered pattern and died. I have inclided the crash file... nothing seems to work. Can someone out there tell us whats going on?

FINALLY got a screenshot fo what the error message is:

I start the game and get

Logging on ---Authenticating------------------------------Logging on------Authenticating----Logging on----- ?***Network error#20020: Failed to establish connection***?

Now mind you, my connection to the internet is fine, good as always.

Maybe this is part of the problem???

Sometimes when i get to the second page of the website:

I go from home page------- to Play Game! allies-------

instead of the second page loading i get a white page, black type that reads:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK

Date: Fri, 27 Jan 2006 13:22:10 GMT

Server: Apache

Content-Type: text/html;charset=UTF-8

Content-Language: en

Content-Length: 48133

Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=99

Connection: Keep-Alive

Play Allies!

This happens about 1 out of every 5-10 tries, and has never happened before.

HELP!

anyone able to log in yet? Am I the only one who still cant?

Any info from the Rats?

How bout a sticky with a workaround or at least acknowlegement that there is a problem and its being worked on so I know not to keep retrying the installer 10 bazillion times.

Please, any info would be appreciated.

(removing my sig cause im apparently no longer part of this game)

This is what I did - Tried this last night.

1. Pulled cfml file from preference to save keymapper settings.

2. Downloaded - Battleground Europe™ Full Install (MAC) and Battleground Europe™ Latest Update (MAC)

3. Tossed out the original game folder - launched and installed full install, then launched and installed Latest update

4. Places cfml file back in preferences - launched game using the Shawnce launcher. No dice. Launched game using web page - no dice. Off-line works and so do the keymapper settings I saved.

Tried that twice now.

Will try again when I get home tonight.

I'm online and playing fine since last night. My system:

OS 10.4.4

Dual 2.7 G5

X800XT

What I did:

1. Made a back-up copy of my WW2OL Pref's folder (which I didn't need as the new install didn't modify my pref's but good idea anyway).

2. Deleted the Playnet folder from applications.

3. Ran Disk Utility to repair permissions.

4. Downloaded full installer - then ran it.

5. Downloaded latest patch - installed it "manually" IE: didn't use auto-installer function by trying by launching PlayGate.

6. Repaired permissions again (sometimes helps, and couldn't hurt).

7. Launched game offline.

8. Launched game from "Play Battleground Europe" Alias link.

I kept a log of exactly what I did - and there it is.

Still annoying I had to do it, the auto-install either needs to be fixed or disabled I think

With the 1.21.2 patch' date=' a large number of PC players could not get in (1.21.1 was fine). Disabling their firewall allowed them in. Some that had never set up the firewall to allow playgate and the ww2.exe executable (or TCP ports 27015 through 27021) had to do so with that patch. Those that had already set it up had to remove their entries and do it again from scratch, even though they put in the same values. It was a mystery as to why, but they all got in.[/quote']

Does anyone in THIS forum give a flying flip what the PC guys had to do? What relevance does this have at all?

Im still at work and eagerly watching forums. Are others able to logon using Hoodoos method above?

The lack of recent posts could either mean you are all successful and no longer need this thread, or you are unsuccessful and awaiting a "patch".

I hope its the former, and not the latter.

Um, the "firewall" part. Possibly extreme relevance.

Rick found and fixed the problem but I'm not sure when it will go in.

It involves the code that looks for the best connection from your PC to the several ISP connections the rats have now. Apparently this code fails when the first connection attempt doesn't work (a multi-threading error). Thus it will work for some people and not for other; sometimes it takes a few attempts and then works, but for other folks it never works. Not sure on when patch will happen.

This week at work has been so bad I just want to kill something (virtual). I hope I get in :-)

UPDATE: Patch is out, trying now. Works for me...

I am behind a firewall and can get into game without problem.
It was like that with PCs. Most people had no problems, even behind a firewall. The problem seemed very random, but everyone that had problems had to fix it by messing with their firewall.
