Video Settings Issue

17 posts in this topic

Got a new laptop today. Installed the game. My settings for the laptop and all other related programs are set at 3200 x 1800 x 32 landscape.

When I log in to game the screen is so messed up like its way to big. Is there a preferred video setting?

Im not on my Laptop where I can do that at the moment but I think the game is not seeing my GT 750M in the settings. Its only showing me as an option Intel HD Graphics 4600.

I think this may be the problem but dont know how to get the game to see my GT 750M

Well got the game to recognize the GT 750 but the screen in game or offline is still off. Cant see the whole screen.

Its almost like if you cut the screen in 4 quarters equal parts U see the top left 1/4. Almost like I would need to play with 4 screens to make the game whole...lol.

Any ideas?

Righty-o, a few things to try here.

Make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers. Dell have a tendency to supply out dated drivers out of the box.

Make sure this is set right:

-Nvidia Control Panel

-Manage 3D settings

-Make sure Global settings tab on right hand side

-Go down to Cuda-GPU's and select your Graphics from there

Next, make sure 'enlarge icons' is not active. Then you may need to play with your resolution settings in WWIIOL settings, windows and nvidia. Your playing in a nearly 4k resolution so there's a chance it's messing with things.

Did all the Nvidia control panel stuff........nothing changed.

No enlarged icons.

The only way I can get to see the whole game is if I lower the settings but then the game screen is about the size of a 3x5 index card like a little screen in the middle of my laptop screen.....a little impossible to play to say the least.

No idea what the issue is. Everything else works perfectly fine on the laptop.

FIXED:

I got it figured out. The issue is with the DPI settings and the video driver. To fix it, open up Control Panel, type Display, click on Display, check mark, "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" and then change it to Smaller 100%.

NVIDIA GeForce Experience now reports the correct resolution as well.

Hope this helps others!

PS - The icons on my desktop are now miniscule but at least the game is in a normal format now.....LOL.....I set the display to 1920 x 1080 to resolve the icons but the game still runs 3200 x 1800

I'm having the same sort of problem with my Legion Y520, GTX 1050 Ti with 4GB VRAM.   My game is too large for my 15.6" laptop screen.

I'll check out BMW's suggestion.

Typed Display, clicked on change Display settings. Under scale and layout, changed the size of the text, apps and other items from 125% to 100%.  Game fits the sreen like a glove.

Now can I do it for just the wwii program?

Hey BMW does Senior Member mean your over 65?

LOL......no.  Just been around since 2003.

I hope the above helped.  I do not play on my laptop but when I tried that was the only way I got it to fit properly.  I just got lousy framerates when I tried.  I was away on business and wanted to see if it would run.  I think there is also a sticky in the forums about it as well. I will look for the link and post back here.

EDIT: here is the link:

The community support fix for my problem worked also to change the size of the game down so it weould fit om my laptop 15.6 screen.

I had to check instead of uncheck.   Thanks for helping me.
