      Volunteer PHP Developer wanted to revive the Gazette!   07/24/2019

      We're looking to properly revive the World@War Gazette and need a solid PHP developer to help take some work forward. If you have some skills with PHP and are looking for some experience and to bring important home page news / recognition for individual players back to WWII Online, I'd like to hear from you! Submit an inquiry to jobs@corneredrats.com with some details about your experience. You will need at least 10+ hours per week to contribute to the team. The Gazette's current status can be found here: https://www.wwiionline.com/resources#gazette

AM I wrong or have their been no game development since 2011?

To me everything appears to be the same as when I last played in 2011 - did I miss something?

But next patch is imminent

They've had a very rough patch that they have pulled through with the help of this awesome community :). Things are looking ALOT brighter now, and the aim is to launch on steam in the near future.

Introduced 2012

* Americans

* Bazooka / PZ Schreck

* Semi Autos

In January 17 2015 they released this patch (1.34.10).

In July the 31st they announced their roadmap

September the 5th they released their next patch (1.34.11).

Patch 1.34.12 should perhaps be coming out before the end of this year as well.

IMHO' date=' last 'patch' literaly not patch. It is something else. May be just redesign or paint job.[/quote']

Oh? Well perhaps we need to have you look closer. We have a new team on board managing really old code. Ever conduct open heart surgery on a patient who was alert and staring right at you? That's kinda what this is like :).

We updated the host for the first time in awhile and introduced several new features to the game. In the near future we'll be introducing new weapons (Gewehr41 and Mas40).

We are making progress, keep reading the updates at http://wwiionline.com/news.

Thanks for the replies :)

One thing I did notice, is that the game seems to run kind of smoother. It could be that my current computer is a bit better than the one I used in 2011, but an upgrade on the host is probably helping too. Also the general network en route may have been upped a bit since 2011.

I have a love/hate relation with this game, and have to admit to a few rage quits. Sexy heartbreaking biatch it is :D

I find xoom shallow and pedantic. Except those times he was drunk and spammed purple drank in system chat. Good times
