TS is drastically dropping my FPS

14 posts in this topic

Hi!

I usually have something like 60-80 FPS.

But when I have TS running in the background, my FPS drops to below 10.

Any ideas or hints?

There is some sort of interaction between the game app and TS that I don't understand.

Try starting the game app first followed by ts and see if that helps.

Recently the problem has gone away for me but I don't know why. :(

Anyway try changing the sequence in which you startup the apps and see if that makes a difference.

Same thing happening to me. Just got a brand new mac and downloaded the latest version of TS. Without it running, I'm getting 60-80fps, with it, it drops to 5-8fps. Here are my specs:

iMac Retina 5K, 27inch, Late 2015

Processor 3.3GHz i5

Memory: 8GB

Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M395X

Teamspeak Version 3.0.18.2

I am having the same issue with the frame rate dropping to low single digits when TeamSpeak is opened. I have tried opening the game first and opening TS second. No luck.

iMac Info:

  • iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)
  • MAC OS: 10.11.1 (El Capitan)
  • Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2 GB
  • TeamSpeak: 3.0.18.2

Dose it drop when open, or when open and connected to wwiiol server ?

If WWIOL and TS are open, frame rate drops.

I am looking at moving back one version of TS to see if it helps.

I worded that poorly when I said wwiiol sever I meant on TS sever ie connected to the wwiiol channel vs just open and not connected

I don't know if this is a Rat problem or not. For me, the problem went away when I upgraded from 10.11.1 -> 10.11.2 but I don't know why.

I could not find an earlier version of TeamSpeak to revert back to. I did use the Mac Activity Monitor to check Memory and CPU use.

Both WWIIOL and TS running:

CPU:

  • TS...............18%
  • WIIOL .........15%

Memory:

  • TS..............65 MB
  • WWIIOL.....900-1.2 MB

I did not see a big change with one Application or the other open.

iMac Info:

  • iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)
  • MAC OS: 10.11.2 (El Capitan)
  • Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2 GB
  • TeamSpeak: 3.0.18.2 (Oct 2015)
