BF109 Audio Bug

So I was flying Allied during intermission, and while cruising along looking for EA, I heard the sound of a 109 behind me.

I rolled while looking up, back and over my right shoulder, and sure enough, there's a 109 back there.

I had plenty of time to escape his attack, and managed to drag him off to friendlies.

I remarked out loud on TS and everyone laughed. "Sure, it's been that way for a long time." -as if I should have known this already.

When I mentioned it in side chat, the other Allied players also knew about it already.

Why should any pilot EVER be able to hear what's behind him while doing 200mph?!?

I mean, unless that 109 is DIRECTLY behind you, but still... this guy was 500M back.

There is a sound bug that tells Allied pilots when they are being tailed by a 109. It's an unfair advantage and akin to having a wingman when you don't really have one.

Thought I'd mention it here.

Fly one on one and try it out.

  • CORNERED RAT

last time i remembered hearing about this kinda thing was when there was sound card issues with the game...you could look to either side and your engine would be muted out and you could hear things like planes from a long way away. only select players had it, you could kinda tell, that had certain sound cards/drivers.
