Fix the AO system.

14 posts in this topic

Once again, entire squad sitting around doing nothing because system won't let us AO towns we need to.

With many AOs need to allow more soft caps, getting ready to log as is squad.  Sheesh, not that hard.

Make the game playable and fun for squads - let us do stuff.

Seriously?
Im looking and there seem to be AO's going on.
You have plenty of availability of soft caps, but most people find them boring and unfun, hence HC isnt going to just wander about placing them willy nilly.
People get angry because they cant shoot tanks and ei and stuff.

What happened? boat wouldnt start this morning?

Squad logged, 4 AOs, system placing them, we sat in town 20+ minutes waiting....  Busted the FB, ran MS.

I know, nothing perfect, but enough is enough sadly.

If system placed the AO - that's a failure of your HC.

This is a little unfair i'de say. The AO mechanics you have currently in place are far from perfect. Not sure if placing a placeholder AO on a town where you dont have even an FB, just to race to put AO  before a system does it. Is this in the spirit of getting good action to players, which perhaps was the intention of forcing a side to place all available AOs? not to talk about how AO numbers change with very little time to react

The AO system needs to be fixed because you can't soft cap a town......hmmmm. First world problems I guess.

Agree with B2K on this one, you need to work better with your HC to better coordinate those soft caps!

You're the company, you mandated that all game activity revolve around these volunteer game admins called HC. It's you're responsibility if customers aren't enjoying themselves because of a deficiency in HC, and trying to pawn off a bad customer experience on HC isn't going to work.

You're also desperately short of ingame leadership, and ingame leadership apparently is the solution to all the gameplay problems. So you had better do everything you can to increase ingame leadership (squads) instead of disregarding squad concerns.

You have over 20 minutes to place your next AO, and you get a large text notice every minute for 20 minutes.

If you have an active HC online, there is no excuse for a system AO (apart from purposely letting System AO to game the game, but that's pretty rare).

Also, softcaps delems!?!?!  Come on man.  At least sit in a depot at an active AO or something...

*** Also, softcaps delems!?!?!

With all the AOs around, we thought pre-buffering Antwerp (Zand, Kalm) would be wise.  We also like to keep as much of Zees area axis as we can too, hence the need for soft capping now and then.

It was also a string of 'bad luck' (or I call it bad AO coding by system)...

We were working with HC btw, 3 AOs, 1 was clearing, it cleared, they placed; then 4th AO came and system denied our AO request.

So another town was to be AOd, then we'd get 4th AO; of course, they AOd it, placed ours, and system went to 3, so system denied it again.

Something else went wrong during all this too, maybe one of our AOs kicked allied flags and become a 'soft cap', again denying the placement of ours.

So we left.

It's hard enough to run a squad, try to keep 10 players interested in game (70% newbs btw) and plan/exectue ops, to then have the system bork your attempts.

The up and down movement of AO´s is really annoying. Seems to have no delay.
