Man after reading all of this I am really considering unsubbing and moving on. This is a load, its sad to see the air so unbalanced that people bring up the issues to CRS and they dont do a damn thing. Then people like BMBM and merlin51 who HAVE to chime in on everything you f**king know-it-alls, and you guys BARELY  play the game, but yet know EVERYTHING in the game. This just adds to the frustration and REALLY makes me want to un sub for good....

Those guys help develop the game.

Honestly it seems like this game may be too difficult for you at this time.

It's also really sad that some people actually liked your post about unsubbing.

I mean if you can't enjoy the game, no one else should either, right?

Exactly what he was talking about Pittpete, you would rather insult him and tell him it's his personal problem and he is being selfish alienating the players base.  This is exactly why I started the post the way I did, was to bust right through all the BS like this and get to the problem.  It worked too, look at eh ideas,  observations, and discussions, but at every turn instead of addressing the issue a couple of people get on here and make it their personal mission to put down the people to make their cause insignificant instead of actually listening.  This is what is frustrating more than the problems in the game,  and this tactic does not work because it makes the person yell even louder about the problems that you or CRS doesn't want to be posted publicly so it turns into an insult fest.

Yes, I liked the post because he made a good point, I did not like it because he said he was going to unsub, you assumed that and that made an A-ss out of you and the rest of us.

Remember when you work for a business and speak for them you can't afford to talk like the player base.  What you say directly reflects the people you work for, like the way a child acts directly reflects the parents! I'm not saying roll over, but I am saying choose your words carefully because it does not come from just you when you represent a company!

I used to have 3 hero accounts, I only have 1 for the past 2 months because I hope the game will get better but I can no longer justify paying all 3 until I see the actions. now you lost my confidence by the responses I got instead of having a discussion about what I believe are problems.  Yes, "what I believe" because I don't know for a fact so this what forums are for to discuss not shut people down!

All the flubbub over lack of flak?  Ok, I can see that we all have what I call micro complaints that tend to get way overblown.  However ppl are passionate about this game and sometimes we lose our minds.  I think it would be helpful for ppl who start to get unhinged over something like flak, need to take a tour on the other side for 2 maps. Nobody is discounting that the flak30 is anemic - when you have to compare it to the 25mm.  If the allies had a 20mm also and not the 25mm, I highly doubt the complaint would be so bitter.  IF the allies only had .50s and the axis had the 20s for aa, the situation would be reversed.  HOWEVER all of this is going to be somewhat mute anyway. We have a [censored] ton of stuff coming our way - including new flak types.  The game is on the precipice of fundamentally changing with some more insane changes with Wing 2 and ppl want to unsub?  I dare say that part of that might to be dropping the camle38 from the US with the M16 possibly and the Axis will have the 20mm light AA while the US I think would be the quad 50s unless there is a US ground deployed 20mm light AA gun.  If that's the case I am fine with it. There will be other areas the US forces will get that are better than the other factions once those placeholders are replaced with their historical weapons.. IE, 60mm mortar and the 37mm light ATG.  None of this is going to come in a vacuum. Hang in there.

Stankyus, good post, but it is not all about the flak,  Back in the day there used to be more axis flyer, it evened out the air battle.  Even the WillyTee comics made fun of this back in the day. Today there are hardly any axis flyers, most go allied.  I would like someone to even out the players, how do we do this, and why is there an imbalance are the questions that need to be asked!

I will not apologize for defending a game i love or volunteer for.

Remember i'm a player also and if someone acts like a screaming child i have no problem pointing it out.

Telling someone it's a difficult game is an insult?

The game is difficult and that's what makes it unique.

You think 500 posts about the inability to shoot down planes with flak is going to make that person better?

. In fact if you believe that strongly that something isn't right, then contact a DEV and have a serious conversation or better yet post it in the secure forums.

It's posted here in the general forums so the disgruntled ex players can continue to bang the drum about all the inadequacies of the game.

Ok, let me put what you said into words that you can understand.   By telling him to get good, and basically, stfu, is the same as me saying the game sucks because you lack the skill to support the game, develop, code it, etc.  Tha would be an A-ss hole thing for me to do, yet you represent the company and still did it.

It was posted in general forums because I wanted everyone's opinion, again you assumed something making an a-ss out of yourself.  You continually try to attack the person thinking it makes you right.

I got it you are doing it on purpose to sidetrack the original topic to get the post closed, I see now.  The dirty tactic, look I can assume too.

Hey, lets remain civil here. We all have opnions on how the game could get better, and we welcome the feedback just remember for every point about what someone says needs to be corrected, someone else may feel the exact opposite. Just be respectful of that.

I was Axis for 6 years - I am familiar with the spit hordes. I flew in a squad where we primarily flew Stukas - we regularly had flights of 15 or more and during squad nights would have as many as 45 in the air.  I also participated in Zcasts 100+ HE111 RDP raid.. we had over 100 HE111s and over 60 fighter escort. I flew Axis during the Spit9 days and against the p38s. When I went allied I tried to fly but always got gang banged by the Axis pilots.   I had not joined an allied air squad because they at the time where at a low. I used to wonder why the allied air squads - fighters, not bombers where dwindling. I joined the 23rd Armored and at the time we had a Air wing and I would fly with them at times but I realized I was not a pilot but found my niche and comraderie with the ground troops. The airwing in the 23rd dried up, our AA gunners left, and we where left with just the core 23rd ground troops. The numbers dwindled so we fused several squads together and formed AEF.  I think one of my issues while flying Axis was the lack of air frame variety.. it was all 09s, 110s for any variant. It got to be pretty stale. However if you notice we are starting to get new variants on both sides.  I have seen a pick up in allied air participation, and Sunday over Ciney IIRC the Axis had air superiority and a consistent red square for about an hour or so.  I really don't understand some of the discussions in the Hangar - as like I really don't understand what they are talking about, its way over my head. When I fly, I point my plane and pull the trigger. I don't get into all the engine size, boosts, etc. Its way to technical.  All I know is that the 09 is a very hard plane to fly well and in the hands of the Ace pilot, I get destroyed.  I think part of the issue could simply be that the allied rides are much more noob friendly.

The fact of the matter is that LW is severely underpopulated.

The conjecture is that there are gameplay mechanics in place that, intentional or not, negatively impact LW significantly more than RAF or FAF.

The goal, regardless of whether or not the conjecture is accurate, is to even out population.

Let us please keep this in mind. I don't think anyone will necessarily disagree with the base fact or the goal if they actually care about game health.

I believe @madrebel is on to something, re: air game focuses on CAS which means planes more fitting for turn fighting or low alt combat are at significant advantages. While counters exist, requiring players to compensate for disadvantages completely outside of their control is not good game design unless the game also allows those same players to play to their advantages.

The question is, does the current game environment naturally lend itself to the strengths of LW planes? As I find myself in agreement with madrebel, I'm going to also conjecture that it does not. Then, can the game environment be made to have scenarios that naturally lends itself to the strengths of LW planes? I'm not sure, at least not without introucing new gameplay mechanics.

So, with the goal of balancing the air population, I think introducing new gameplay mechanics that changes the game environment could be a step in the right direction.

One thing I don't really see addressed, though, (or not nearly enough) is the downward spiral that overpopulation brings to the air game. We can easily see the problems on the ground and there have been a lot of changes recently to address that, but nothing has been looked at for the air.

I unfortunately don't have many solutions to that problem, but there should be *some* mechanism in place that's better than saying "fly together, that will fix everything".

As for things I can comment on from personal experience regarding the defense of flight models, mentioning "hitpoints", etc., keep in mind that flak modelled in the game is CONTACT FUSE (I could actually be wrong about this, but decently sure) and only counts for DIRECT HITS. 40mm direct FlaK hits are brutal, and that's not currently modelled in the game. It's a known issue. Hopefully the HE audit addresses. If not, then it's up to DM reviews. No idea about 20mm/25mm, as I don' expect those to be nearly as troublesome as a 40mm hit.

*** but nothing has been looked at for the air

Interesting point.

What about a very simple next map supply modifier?

Sure, someone has to figure out which planes count in which categories.

But, to illustrate the point - let's just look at tactical bombers.

Will look at kills to come up with the modifier, though other stats could be incorporated for a better model maybe (say TOM, sorties, etc.)

So, say this map ends today, and say each side currently gets 200 tactical bombers in list.

Using the kills modifier (580/(1801+2517)), next map allies would only get 21.81 tactical bombers instead of 200, so 22 (FRU).

The main problem with this is it does nothing to help the current map, but only changes future maps.

If the kill ratio got closer to 1.0; then each side would both still get 200.

As a normalizer, supply lists would not get modified if say the ratio was no more than 10 to 20% off maybe.

(if allies have 110 kills and axis 100, then both still get 200 bombers next map, as it is 'close enough')

I like the kill modifier so long as it applies to inf, armor, and atgs then. I suspect that isnt what ya had in mind though.

Never heard so much [censored]in in my life. Gawd.

Axis dominate in many areas remember. Quite frankly you can have the air if allies get the leg up in armor and inf weaponry.

Please correct me if I am wrong,, but didn't the LW planes just get a FM fix that makes them a crap ton more stable at lower speeds?

Deleted the rest,, do not want to sour anyone

I'm not asking for an advantage, I'm asking to make it fun to play on both sides, land,  sea, and air.  Th LW needs to attract pilots, but how, and why are they Not?  getting more LW pilots would make it more fun for both sides, evening out the population would give fun battles because one side wouldn't die non stop from gang rape and the other would have more fun because they would get more people to kill.  win/win.

You dont see it. It is the attitude of people like bmbm that keeps shutting off any discussion regarding potential problems this game has, instead of actually listening. Actively listening. That is what drives people away. Not primarily the game itself. This perpetual denial, a la CRS 1 gets old rather quickly...

Nobody is saying here that CRS is biased. So this defensive stance serves no purpose. Its clear that most of us want this game to continue, and to improve. And improvement starts when we figure out what the problems are. Which, some of us here want to pretend there are none.

The 109 got an FM audit because previous attempts to correct it were not done right and it was really bad.
I do not think the 190 or 110 had anything touched, nor any other planes, yet.
