      Operation Burning Skies   09/17/2019

      All pilots scramble!  Strap yourself in for this months Community event - Operation Burning Skies! This Sunday, September 22, 11 am – 5 pm server time. In honor of XOOM and friends showcasing WWII Online at the Oregon International  Air Show – our forces too will battle for superiority in Operation Burning Skies. High Commands are on high alert to rally their forces to victory! Lift off, and see a whole new world of WWII Online… Fearless bomber pilots make the skies rain down fire – our daring fighter pilots are in pursuit of their prey- as western Europe erupts in war on the ground below! My old squad used to run resupply for the attackers.

10-20 pieces of armor instantly available at the FB for others to use.

Those were the days IMO

If you run a gambit, and you pull everything possible from the surrounding areas to hold the line, and you LOSE.
If the opposition has played smart, and has the materials and resources and planning, they could potentially punch a pocket into you 2 towns deep
before your pulled supply can recover.

If you pull from towns B and C to hold A and lose, B and C don't suddenly go to full supply again.

And that strategy will be run by the guys on the ground, and the squads, and wont rely on any one particular person to be logged in to make it happen.

That will depend on supply numbers and ressuply timers.

With rear fbs there is indeed more chance to see rear supplies being depleted, since in the past we had to drive from one town to another

6 towns maybe a stretch but we certainly would do 2 towns back if necessary. I remember many a panzer run from towns back only to turn to a new target because the town had just fallen in the middle of a resupply Rush.

This is one reason why dynamic mission target is needed.

Which is why I think the rear FB should only be associated with the frontline town, and to resupply a frontline town you need to drive from the behind-the-lines town to the rear FB  of the frontline town. Anything else and you have tank armies warping between multiple behind-the-lines FBs with no way for an attacker/ambusher to cut off the resupply.

Like in the past, resupply should be a very rewarding thing for the attacker that can turn the tide. But it should also be a dangerous drive for the foolhardy tanker who decides to roll alone down a road without strength in numbers or at least advanced recon to pick out the ATG traps and enemy tank ambush spots.
