Sdkfz 234 series

7 posts in this topic

Hello. I was wondering if we could get a expansion on the 23# series?

Simply,  take the 232, remove its roll cage and modify its turret.

234- 20mm auto cannon with a mesh turret top.

234 pakwagon - 76mm Pak

234 Stummel - 76mm howitzer

234 puma - 57mm gun with turret

234 is a completely different, and heavier chassis

Ignoring the chassis, i am not sure the proper turret for say a Puma would fit the 231/232 correctly

Same turret ring diameter, but historically different series. 231/232 was early/mid war and gasoline fueled, 234 was late war and diesel fueled. 232 had 8 to 15mm armor thickness, 234 had 10 to 30mm.

234s: Puma, the 20mm version and the 7.5cm L/24 version were first fielded in T8. 7.5cm L/46 was first fielded T9.

The 233 (7.5cm L/24) was first fielded in T5.

The bedstead antenna on the 232 was retrofitted to a star-top whip antenna on all vehicles in service during 1942, T4-5.

The Puma turret could not have been fitted to 232s because the 232 was out of production by the time of the development of that turret as part of the later-cancelled Leopard light tank project. To the best of my knowledge, no 232-series vehicles were field-fitted with that turret.

--> Actually 75mm / 7.5cm, L/46

234 Stummel - 76mm howitzer

--> 7.5cm L/24...guns removed from early-mark StuGs and PzKpfW IVs

234 puma - 57mm gun with turret

--> 5.0cm L/60 with muzzle brake, in the Leopard light tank turret

Yep, different hull.  Finish out the 231, 232, 233, 263 first - then move to the 234.

Fortunately 231 and 232 are the exact same vehicle, except for the long range radio set.
Be cool if that could be like some kind of voice comms bonus later, maybe?

Like a side scouting channel that only HC and players in properly equipped vehicles could broadcast on?
