Time for a new rank reset or some way to spend unused point?

I see hundreds of Lt Col's running all around and that just doesn't seem realistic. So maybe a rank reset?

Or maybe give us max ranks types something to do with those unused points we get, but count towards nothing.

Maybe using those points on a weapon that can only be obtained for one mission by spending those points. Kind of like a "rank has its privileges" type of weapon, but nothing uber obviously, just only obtainable using excess points.

I suggested a DLC that lets guys rank up an additional icon next to the existing "doughnut" rank. $10 to start your points counting again, I think there are more than enough Stat Hos who would want to be the first double max rank, and then sell them another $10 DLC to access a triple doughnut.

The last time they did that I was a Brigadier General and they reset rank based on your current rank. So instead of starting at the lowest rank, I was a 2nd Lt or something like that.

A current 2nd LT might start as a SGT and not the lowest, nor the highest enlisted rank. Those are just examples, as I cannot remember exactly how CRS did it.

If you have an overabundance of points, then you should be able to purchase with these points. IE: new uniforms, better optics, better parachute control. scope for your rifle, etc. Things that are niceties and have minimal impact on the game. They would also be timed based. Good for ?? days and you would have to renew with additional points. So you would have to keep supplying/use of points.

Here is a possible money maker for CRS. Have a topographical map, outside of the game. You could put marks on it. Have HC info avail. for it. Squad only information on it. Let your mind wonder.  At a whapping cost of $1.00 a month to use this download. Your side will see what is allowed if you have the map. A topo map is greatly needed and will boost moral and membership. Other games have Topo Maps. We should also.

There is already information being past back and forth between computers and server..

Always thought the introduction of separation of the dead from their weapons was meant to lead to the ability to pick said weapon up. Always thought that would be a good way to use extra points.

Were you in HC?  IIRC when you leave HC your ranks gets bumped down not LT Col but lower..........at least I thinks thats the way it was done

No, this was pre-HC, a long time ago. Once HC came on the scene they reset ranks, and max attainable was LtCol, unless you were HC.

Separate rank from gear access.

Allow squad COs to set rank of members.

This will allow squads to actually organize their ranks around command structures and like real squads/platoons etc.

Yep, you are correct
I think we all had some crazy rank back then due to scoring issues, a war fought by generals, with no privates hehehe

Я баллы никогда не покупаю, и деньги не трачу, зачем, если есть специальные сайты на которых можно получать их бесплатно и играй себе сколько хочешь в любом портале, я сейчас рублюсь в игровой аппарат с лягушками очень крутая не смотря на то что,  простая специфика, она умеет зарядить адреналином, особенно когда получаешь новый телефон или деньги на карту. Вот это я понимаю уровень!

Actually had a huge discussion on this point.

 

I'd suggest three primary things-

1) untying rank to vehicle access, or at least auto access at X rank.  Instead you spend the current rank points to be able to spawn X item.  So inf guys can work their way up and get all the good stuff if that's their thing, tankers can really focus on getting tanks, and our service personas really do take on personal characteristics and abilities.

 

2) take the individualization thing a step further and instead of selecting/spending for a new weapon, spend for a new ability.  I would never want abilities like 'take twice as much damage' or 'invisibility' or any aimbot/advantage at shooting accuracy/damage sort of thing, leave the sim bits alone.  Rather, it would be things like translator ability and so enemy chat is now readable, decouple ground marks from air maps unless the persona has a Forward Observer/Recon ability, camo specialist can spawn new PPOs to hide tanks/guns/trucks/FMS, maybe not allow swimming across rivers unless the swimming ability is taken, etc.

 

3) points can be put into admission into HC.  This means that candidates would have a minimum of experience and buy-in to join.

Spawn points work like such.
Spawn rifleman - cost 0, lets say somewhat uneventful mission, we recapped one depot
Lets say 15 points.

7.5 points to rank, 7.5 to spawn

Ok so we save up some spawn points, lets just say 45
We spawn a SMG - Cost 45
Infantry Spawn point balance now 0

We go out on an escort mission to protect some 88's
EI are scared and none come close enough to shoot, so we despawn to FMS at end of mission
0 points from the mission, but SMG is undamaged
Despawn status was RTB
Refund 45 points for the SMG - direct to infantry spawn point pool
Balance now 45 again.

Next mission, we kill 2 EI and capture a depot
so lets say 15 for the cap, and 5 for each EI
25 mission points on RTB plus 45 refund for undamaged SMG
so 12.5 to rank, 12.5 to infantry spawn pool plus 45 refund to infantry spawn pool
infantry span points balance 57.5

Ok now next mission, we take the SMG again
leaving a balance of 12.5 in the infantry spawn points
We gun down 2 EI, but we get hurt, not killed but we take damage.

We RTB.
5 mission points per EI, so 5 to rank, 5 to infantry spawn points
balance 17.5
We RTB but we were damaged, refund 22.5, 50% penalty for being damaged.

If we had rescued, then 11.2 points refund, 75% penalty for being RES with damage (50% for RES with no damage)

So infantry spawn point balance 39.7
Cost of SMG is 45, so we have to do some rifle missions now to earn points to get another SMG.

And the points earned as a rifleman can not be used to buy a tank or ATG etc.

Now, it goes without saying, but being KIA or MIA is a total loss of the unit, you get 0 refunded
total loss of unit points spent.
