cut off garrisons

7 posts in this topic

What happens when cut off garrisons capture another enemy town in that pocket. ie enlarge the pocket but dont reestablish supply links.

Does the flag change but not fill ? or does the initial garrison come in still over the first hour , then not have casualties resupplied?

just did a quick test and it seems they will receive their initial supply but will not receive any additional supply if you use it.

Hmm, maybe new supply should not trickle in at all unless the garrison has a valid supply link back to its own factories?

You guys might want to think about that.

Excellent question Goreblimey!

Ummm.  That seems at odds with reality, they absolutely should do a supply check before loading.

Fine let it do a check.  The result is it has a cutoff status.  And that should mean no more supply trickling in because its cut off - lol.

anything cutoff is going to attempt to breakout towards friendly units or surrender.  I would never expect a cutoff unit to spread itself thinner than it already is.  Can a garrison abandon a town? that's what would most likely happen in real life.
