I'm going to try to keep links to the latest drivers from the primary video card manufacturers here.

A lot of people with 7000 series nVidia GeForce cards are reporting a huge FPS drop with the latest 91.31 drivers, if Water Reflections are turned On. There seem to be other problems with these drivers as reported on the internets. For now, we recommend turning off water reflections, or going back to the 84.xx nVidia drivers. Our programmers are investigating the water reflection issue and the drivers in the meantime. (Thanks to Wound, Ziporama, Fallsjgr, Wolfiejr, Gnasche and others for helping point this issue out).

ForceWare: 84.21 (03/17/2006)

Audio

Creative Labs (Sound Blaster, Live! Audigy)

http://www.creative.com/support/

SoundMax Digital Audio

Users with this sound processor are recommended to get drivers from their motherboard or PC manufacturer:

http://forms.analog.com/Form_Pages/soundMAX/soundMAXtechSupport.html

However, these may be acceptable (links to Compaq's FTP site):

http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/soundmax-audio.html

Realtek

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Always Follow Driver Uninstall/Install Instructions!

Note for 'on board' graphics processor users (e.g., ATI Radeon Xpress 200, Intel 8**** Graphics Accelerator) users:

We continue to believe that using any on-board graphic processor unit will result in unacceptable game play for Battleground Europe, and, thus, require a dedicated 3D card with at least 128 mb of independent memory. We cannot support these gpus.

For the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 specifically:

This GPU has been failing to even load the game for dozens of players. However, one user reports that his HP laptop that uses this GPU can again load the game with the new HP driver updates that came out in early March (I'm guessing that these include the technology in the latest Catalyst drivers). While the game performance was very slow, he was able to load the game. However, as on-board GPU's go, this one seems to be very good, and apparently does fine with many single-player games, running at lower resolutions (like 640x480). If you can get this game to be acceptable for you in BE, we thank you for your dedication.

What about laptop/mobility drivers?

I have a Mobility Radeon 7500 but the "latest" drivers from my laptop manufacturer are 3-4 years old. And ATI doesn't even list any acceptable drivers on their site. Omega drivers don't work as well.

What are we to do?

(for reference, the problem is that we cannot start up the game)

Since installing 84.21 Nvidia drivers Ive had the notorious "NV4_DISP" BSOD. Search it in Google and you'll see it's fairly prevelant and as far as I know there's no real fix.

Certain games seem to aggravate it. I don't think WW2OL does...I think Star Wars Empire at War may be the cause of my grief :-(

EVGA has released a later version of the Nvidia drivers, 84.56 that is WHQL certified, might want to check your respective card vendors site for drivers if stability is an issue.

I thought any nvidia drivers in the 9x.xx range will cause a decrease in performance of the game?

If so why are we listing and linking them?

The 9x.xx drivers only have conflict with water reflections. The 9x.xx drivers work great if you disable water reflections in WWII Online Settings.

I'll try this. I have a GF 6600GT with 8x.xx drivers but I can try upgrading and turning off reflectors.

Right now I'm getting teh stutter bad.

thanks

S!

I got the latest drivers and my fps while flying in game are from 1 FPS to 37 FPS, its appauling that the game has come full circle to really terrible frame rates since launch day. Please get this situation resolved quickly so I can enjoy flying again like before the new patch came out that allowed hulks on the battlefield. Something is terribly wrong here, all the players in game are feeling this.

I'm running a NVIDIA 7800 GTX and have my settings to Visual and Performance and made sure the Water reflections were turned off. Still CTDing when I try and use anything but infantry it seems. I guess a more accurate assessment is that I haven't CTD while using infantry to date. I've updated my driver to .36 version and will see if it helps. I'll let you know how it turns out.
