CTHL Victims!

131 posts in this topic

1.23.6 update:

If you do not get a message box in game saying "Connection To Host Lost" then you are not experiencing what CRS refers to as a "CTHL". If your game is exiting for any other reason or by any other means, you are not experiencing a "CTHL".

When posting in this be sure to include *at least*:

a/ The type of internet connection you are using (if dialup, specify speed and modem type),

b/ Whether you are using "Auto", "Primary" or "Secondary" network selection in settings,

c/ Whether you are using any kind of internet accelerator ("web accelerator", "internet accelerator", "tcp/ip accelerator", etc)

d/ Your "Visible Player Limit" setting from "Visual/Visual Limits" in the settings program.

To best assist us in resolving these issues you can also run the "wwiiol_netcheck.bat" script in your Battleground Europe folder and post the results down to the first paragraph of the dxdiag section.

Make sure you are not trying to run any file sharing applications while running the game -- this includes checking that they are not minimized into the task tray.

Everytime I've checked after a CTHL, best as I can recall, the winner was 209. Last night I played trouble free and just checked the ww2net log and the winner was 66.

My issue is the Authentication Error. I can't get in the damned game!

I just uninstalled it, am downloading the latest/greatest full installer now. Maybe that'll werk.

Wheelz, it could still be from the same prob as the CTHL. So if after reinstall you still get the auth error do post the winner url.

Played trouble free for most of the day yesterday, and according to ww2net.log the winner is... yep you guessed it, 66.28.224.143.

I will check the log everytime I CTHL, and post any updates.

Last time in, 209.

I think I'm having memory issues that agravate it, too.

We need a little more info.

In your /Battleground Europe/ folder, please open the file: ww2net.log. Inside, you will find a line of text (and not much else). The line will look something like this:

We would very much like to know, who is the winner for you. We don't need the whole number, just the first.

Is it 66 or 209?

Thanks.

All mine is 66 from sweden S!
