I am having the same problem as sensei. When I try to play the game on or offline the screen just goes black and nothing happens. I'm running Tiger.

I switched from 16 to 32 but colour and it started working. Now the only problem I'm having is the horrible FPS compared to before the patch.

Dual g4 1.25

OSX 10.4.6

Downloaded and installed fine. Launched the game and got off two missions just fine. Quit and did some other stuff. Now when I try to launch again it's hanging at the "Logging in" portion of the game launch. This isn't anything new as it happened in 1.24 as well. The difference is since we now are having trouble Control-Alt-Escaping I can no longer force the application to quit by hitting these keys. The whole thing is locked up and I have to do a hard restart by unplugging.

Running 10.4, downloaded the 1.25 and get the following error message: "Please try installing again."

Can anyone help?

Something in the 10.4.8 update is seriously fubar. Also, while you indicate that you installed it on a PPC, I recall that it is a Security Update for Intel Macs. Either way, on my 2x3 GHz MacPro I am losing TCP/IP connection everytime I bootcamp from OSX to WinXP. Reading the Apple forums it seems I got off easy- others (mostly PPC users) are needing to reload the OS and update back to 10.4.7.

It's been mentioned before that 10.3 support was going to be dropped as of 1.25 in order to keep the ppc/intel workload to a minimum. I don't remember seeing an official announcement of this though. Has anyone with 10.3 been able to install and run successfully?

There's been no customer service or contact for a week. I'm still trying to get an anwer about the joystick issue on the mac which has made teh new patch unplayable.

1.25 does not work with 10.3 I had to go out and buy Tiger to keep playing.

Eh?!?! Nononon... i cannot buy a new O.S. just beacause WWII (as usaual) will work badly... I've read about someone upgrading-back O.S. ... that's ridicolous.

Well some kind of money back operation for 10.3 users? No? Ah... LOL

The major problem with speed under OSX is the system's implementation of OpenGL. There were still a few optimizations to the wwiiol that were originally going to be put into 1.24, but they have been pushed off in favor of a complete rewrite of the graphic routine. The complete rewrite is supposed to be finished sometime in 2007. Also due in 2007 is OSX 10.5 which will feature a multi-processor aware version of OpenGL. So yes, things will get better, but not any time soon.

Thanks for the explanation, it helps when someone explains things. Programming and such is not my thing. Now if you have any questions about helicopters then I'm your guy. Just having this game run on my probook makes me happy.

cheers

Yayay! Wery happy to know we did have news for the 10.5... i'll suppose the version for 10.6 and 10.7 will be extraordinary and bla bla bla...

Now i have 10.3... Someone have news for that? Did i have some kind of answer from CRS please?

That's all fine and good - but to be as straightforward as I can without being rude - I don't want to hear about what's comming in 2007.

I want to know what's being done NOW for the fixes to make the game playable ASAP.

We all help keep the CR folks doing what they do best - but the games been unplayable for almost 2 weeks now.

I can live with this - but what I want is to hear from CR to 1: acknowledge the multiple issues with the Mac install and 2: give us a timeline on when to expect the fixes.

As of this entry - I haven't heard anything, and I mean anything, from CR on these boards about any of the Mac issues.

I also don't want to hear some BS about vacations and no one being around to check the boards - there has to be someone who can at least post a basic customer service response to the paying customers, myself included, who are feeling that they're being entirely ignored.

Then you haven't read all the posts. They answered some mac problems in the bugs forum. They know about the issues.

I'm afraid CRS dropped the ball on this one. It wasn't intentional and obviously hind-sight is 20/20 but they let this one out too early. I know they were between a rock and a hard place, if they didn't release the patch there would be hundreds of angry subscribers whining about "Where's the Christmas patch??" but they should have erred on the side of prudence. Now they have hundreds of people who can barely play the game (not just us Mac folks but tons of PC users with lag issues) right in the holidays when we have the most free time. :(

As for joystick issue, I'm sure it will be fixed in due time. I've been pretty happy with the overall rate of patches and fixes (especially thanks to Ahwulf for his updates).

P.S. My audio sounds fine now. No more of that wierd buzzing. Yay. Haven't had much chance to check sound levels and positioning yet, due to the lag.

If you want the worst example of mac support, I think America's Army takes the cake, where they didn't even tell them the game was cancelled for a year (ya, I know it's a "free" game but that's no excuse to treat people like that).

HAHAHAH! Ya tou tell that: is it a free game...

I've abandoned WWII online 1 years ago after a ridicolus serier of bug, fix, patch, malfunctioning etc... Still CRS don't have some kind of phone number or personal help desk! What?!?! that forum still is the only way to ask help?!?! What kind of ridicolus company do that?

Here we have the help of who? I tell you: here i have help from tons of poor players like me... CRS cannot use that persons as a customer sservice. Stop Anyoning us about news and infinite bug fixing... Begin to work, build a decent product, beacause we pay for that. Stop abuse of our enthusiasm and patience... That game are tested by the players, but the players are customers... when i buy something, usally that is yet tested... or not? LOL Bmw, mercedes, chevy or other, sales u cars with something not yet tested? LOL Well ok i don't take money for game testing... did i have some money for player support?

Well, ok. I cannot play with 10.3 (LOL)... some news about moneys i've pay this mouth?

Cya.
