Yes, on mac intel inf graphic animations have display issues in 1.25.X due to the granny library http://www.radgametools.com/granny.html not being 100% functional on mac intel. In 1.26 there is a new version of granny and all the game's animations were regenerated under this version. Hopefully this will fix all the issues. The rats knew of this issue (and mentioned it in the release notes) when 1.25 was shipped; there wasn't any alternative other than not ship the intel support at all. The joys of depending on third party software.

Still getting funky weapons graphics - German rifle is wildly multi-coloured and bitmapped.

cmd-tab or any other combination just locks up the game so badly I can't even force quit.

1.25.5 is a slight improvement over 1.25.4 in that centre on me now works and the FPS low spike isn't as low. But 1.24 was way, way better. Faster, more stable. Hey ho.

Hi,

I am sending a word file to ahwulf that is the same that I sent to Apple a couple of days ago. I had tried to logon again to WWII Online and CTD. So, I hope that this helps.

Thanks

As I told Woomera in an email, for 1.26 Rick is not going to support window mode for those older video cards where it doesn't work - that's the CTD he's getting. Apparently some older cards can't support both a fullscreen and window context at the same time (even if the window is hidden).

I have the problem where I cannot roll over objects in the in-game map anymore. I can see people on my mission but I cannot roll over them to see their name and type. I cannot roll over a town and see the brigade(s). But I can click on a town and use the contextual menues.

Anyone else have this problem? Is this related to the graphic anomalies?

I ran the updaters from 1.24x, should I do a full install?

Check the in-game settings, there are new options that may disable those features. Someone else here had that problem as well.

So you are saying that the X800 which is certainly not that old a card, will not be fully supported in 1.26? I ask because it does not run windowed mode correctly (ie the wierd foggyness).

No X- cards are fine, im talking about things like the ATI 9000 or 9200. The foggyness has nothing to do with having unsupported opengl context sharing, which is identified by a specific error message supplied by the OS when he tries to create a window in addition to the fullscreen. Foggyness is a different problem having to do with getting the opengl state correct, that's just a bug.

That looks like your ram is probably defective. That comes from the bowels of the virtual memory manager of OSX. Note that running the game will catch a lot of bad memory since it exercises a lot of subsystems a word processor would never touch.

Have you run any other intense games with this rig (3d shooter types?).

(for memory related crashes)

They say it is not "That powerful" but it should be enough and simple/easy.

Run "Apple Hardware Test"- it should come with your Apple

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=88048 (instructions)

If you can't find your original CDs/DVDs, don't bother downloading from net since it is designed only and only for your type of machine.

You can also get Applejack, run "Custom Install" and install memory test with applejack, the instructions are on readme. It is much more through test.

It is a good idea to have Applejack installed anyway.

I have atrociously bad frame rate, but I can deal with that.

My problem is that the game crashes whenever I despawn. I hit Esc, the despawn/death spiral starts then freezes, then it crashes back to desktop.

If I remember right you have a 64MB video card. The game requires 128 now so its paging stuff from video RAM like mad to try to keep up. You can't put 128MB into 64MB without it going poof eventually.

Is it worth it to upgrade the video card with a 4x AGP mobo, or shoud I throw those dollars in a fund for a newish Mac?

Since your Mac is also really sluggish, you would be better off finding something newer unless there is no option financially. There isn't a magical video card that can boost a slow G4 much.

well... hardware test say everything is ok....so it's not my memory...

any way the crash log change every time about the number of CPU crash....

Don't know if i am the only 1 with that probleme....

Guess it's up to u to find the cause of crash.

Did you get the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 firmware updater from Apple? It was released a few days ago specifically for Mac Pros.

Apple Hardware test is not a trivial memory test but it has some limits such as time required.

You should move to plan B, get Applejack, "custom install" and run memtest command utility. If it doesn't find errors too: You really don't have problem with memory.

Hello there ....

What Radar said above ie

Brit rfl - after firing, blank screen for about 1 second (how to die even more quickly than usual)

Weird graphics on most guns, ie sight not shown on Brit LMG, other guns in silouette, missing pistol while playing french

Plus......

Even while getting reasonable FPS (15 - 20) I have been been shot while I see that my opponent (at close range) has not even pointed his/ her weapon at me yet.....

I experienced a tunnelling of vision while moving AAA cml around at an fb - I was not under fire nor was I wounded.

Also - I wanted to paste my computer specs into this msg but can't - bummer !

MacPro, 1

Dual-Core Intel Xeon

2.66 GHz

Processors - 2

Cores - 4

L2 cache per processor - 4 MB

Memory - 2 GB

Bus speed - 1.33 GHz

Godd luck with the fixes,

Bodach S!
