does anyone know why there are no external views available anymore on the online training server? Or is there some trick to enable them again?

My old key mapping for switching to external views doesn’t work anymore, so I’m wondering if something changed on the server side or in the latest build.

All infantry have a shovel for PPOs that can be selected with the 9 key by default. All infantry have binoculars, the default keymap for binos was the 0 key at one time. These modified weapon select keymaps only use top row number keys 1 through 8. These keymaps will not interfere with using 9 for shovel or 0 for binos (if still using the previous default keymap).

Note: These keymaps have no affect on the order when using Select Next Weapon or Select Previous Weapon.

Modify the keymaps in one of two ways.

Method 1:
Use the in-game keymapper to modify each individually.

Method 2:
Install the modified keymaps.

Suggest backing up the \cfml folder first. Download the zip file, extract the contents into the cfml directory. The ..\Documents\WWIIOnline\cfml folder will be used by multiple installations (example: if using both the standard client and the Steam version). The game installation folder ..\WWIIOnline\cfml will be used only by that installation only.

For those who are new to the game, the learning curve can be pretty steep. Jon8798 has put together some videos that run through all the basic concepts allowing a new player to learn how the campaign map works, how to read it and how to find and join a battle. The first attempts went through the Barracks for constructive criticism and what we have here is 5 reasonably polished videos.

Part 1 : (intro, tiers, the map, squads)

Part 2 : (winning, supply, attack/defence orders)

Part 3 : (Components of a town, how to attack and defend)

Part 4 : (How to find and join a mission then enter the game world)

Part 5 :  (communications, squads tab, settings, brigade roster)

Thanks to player JON8798 for his hard work creating these videos. There may be some subtle differences in today's game but these will give you a very good basic idea of how the game works.

It is really frustrating to see it work in Windows and other games but be detected in WWIIonline. I also submitted a support ticket several days ago, but have heard nothing.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
