1.29 multiple accounts on same machine workaround

With 1.29 I have great problems running two instances of BE at the same time.

I have game installed on two locations and I select the installation to run by editing registry (running a .reg file)

This has worked with no problems but with 1.29 I experience this a lot:

-When i launch the 2nd account the 1st that's already in game get instant CTHL.

-Sometimes the 2nd accound freeze loading at "Loading objects".

-Lots of times the avatar for the 2nd account is not visible inside the game world using the 1st account. Example: First account spawn ATG, 2nd spawn tow truck: The ATG can not the or use the truck but the truck can see the ATG.

It's really a great pain to get two accounts running a.t.m. It seems I can't be spawned in when loading the second account cause then i get CTHL. Best success so far is to load both accounts sitting at the ready room theater map.

I had some of these problems with prior versions of the game. They went away once i stopped using SSE2.

I launch both my accounts from the same place, no fiddling with anything!

Same issues. Same workaround. And I use SSE2. :) Thank you for the potential fix.

Turning of SSE2 did not fix then inisibility issues. I can still have one account invisible to the other in the game world. I've yet to have a crash though after turning off SSE2. The invisibility could possible be related to netcode2 failing.

I was having some of your problems. Yesterday I could not see my towing account. Reported it and KFS1 told me it was a silent cthl. He recommended to 1. Set affinity to both cores for both accounts (because of the new compiler they are using - I was running one instance of game on one core and the other one on second core) 2. Not to use Netcode2 for towing account. And it worked. Did not get the same thing again after I turned Netcode2 off.
