Freezing and stutters in game menu and maps

Is this happening to anyone else? Freezes for 2 seconds, unfreezes for half a second, rinse and repeat. Game itself is fine. It's only the main menus and as soon as i open a map ingame

Annoying as all hell. I can't be a mission leader cause it takes forever to have it stop freezing up to be able to mark anything. Sometimes it worse than others. real bad tonight.

nvidia 8800m gts

everything worked fine until that last huge patch. didn't change after the saturday patch.

the Saturday patch made the Smartheap out of memory errors worse though

You are not alone. Symptoms differ slightly but its basically what you are describing. Also Mac people seem to suffer from this.

I guess that's good (bad) news. I've tried everything I can think of on my end to no avail.

at least I'm not alone
