Sometimes game paste text from clipboard

I change my Region and Language settings to "English (united states)" and I changed default input language for keyboard from Swedish to English (united states).

This makes the bug go away.

I've ran into similar problems at work having to convert old 8-bit string from RS232 equipment to Unicode strings (default in C#.net). If you're doing any conversion check if you're trying to force some special encoding (windows codepage stuff is hell) or if you're using system default.

EDIT: Only the default input language setting for your keyboard matters. You need to restart BE for the changes to happen.

Change to English (US) keyboard -> Bug goes away.

Change to Swedish keyboard -> Bug is back.

yep, press altgr once and you will paste the text once when pressing v.

no paste until you press altgr again and only paste once.

using swedish Keyboard

So we know that this happens on danish and swedish keybords.

And I would guess some of the other languages that have the "Alt Gr" key.

(but it would be nice to get this confirmed)

And it works in both online and offline 1.30 and offline in 1.31

Outside the game hitting "ALT Gr+V" does nothing...

and hitting "Alt Gr" and then hitting "V" just gives me a v.

But what is realy stange is that we do not hit "Alt Gr+V"

But just hit the Alt Gr key... and the first time we hit "V" at any time afterwarts... we get the text in our clipboard.

So somehow the game remembers that we hit "Alt Gr"

I doubt this is connected to the physical keyboard layout. It's the input language setting in windows that triggers it.

I bet that if GOPHUR change input language to swedish or danish on his US-keyboard the bug will trigger with right Alt key (AltGr).

UK keyboard and UK regional settings, Logitech EX110 keyboard bought in the UK, no Logitech software installed. Alt Gr and then V pastes text into chat every single time. So this is not something affecting scandinavians only but then again if somebody removed the Alt Gr key from my keyboard I dont think I would ever find out...

Ok now we're getting somewhere!

So this seems to be only Danish keyboards and is triggered by the AltGr key?

Is this the same as the Right - Alt key on English style keyboards?

I was uable to replciate in English keyboard but not sure I am doing it right.

• copy text from web browser to clip board

• launch game online 1.30.1

• go through playgate

• select persona

• bypass squad recruit

• at chat screen select f6

• press right alt and release

• press v

• see v in chat

I couldn't get any combination to work to print from the clipboard.

Can anyone with English keyboard replicate?

Then i press v and it pastes what i have under my ctrl+v.

Gj finding it, i hope you guys do not remove the shift+insert thing since copying is usefull for hc types etc, just not usefull to have it happen excidently.

Finnish keyboard has the problem also.

Btw, while waiting for a fix, just have "v" in your clipboard and when you accidentally paste something, it'll just paste "v"

Gophur, figured out how to do this on a US default keyboard under windows xp.

left ctrl +left alt, then you can do whatever, first v you type in the chat bar will paste from the clipboard.

tried with my french keyboard and i got the bug in 1.30 and now in 1.31, it hit me especially since i play with the AltGr for crouching (playing inf with UJHK for mvt).

But i m aware that if you hit "C" or "X" you get trouble, still i made the community laugh a bit in chat, last time i saw it was 2 days ago.

so same bug for the french keyboard setting

I believe this might linked to azerty keyboard because previously 2 years ago we got problem in the previous keymapper binding "a" or "m", it bind "q" for "a" or ";" for "m" but ingame you can hit "a" or "m" it work (due to azerty an qwerty kb)....i thought that time it was just like some US game devs dont bother think of european. Typing in querty while with an azerty kb remind me the old times of DOS system lol.

Replicated this in offline mode Steps

a) Alt Tab to windows.

copy some text

c) go back to game ( NOTE I clicked the window not ALT TAB BACK)

d) open chat (as if you are about to type something.. enter?)

e) press RIGHT ALT + RIGHT CTRL at the same time then release

f) press v

Text will be in chat.

Will test some more but perhaps using ALT TAB where ALT=ALTGr) then typing v next in chat will replicate this and explain why its random (Click back on game window vs ALT Tab back into game)

3) copy some text

4) use "Right Alt + Right Ctrl + TAB"

5) When window visible to tab to click it with mouse (win 7)

6) press v (as chat is selectd text pastes)

yea, on an english qwerty keyboard, ctl+alt will cause this bug.

Not sure if this is connected but I also get an issue with my C key not always working when I type in the text bar. I get lots of problems with pasted text too. Using W7 here and I alt+tab a lot.

Quick workaround is to copy a 'v' from a bit of text, then you don't have issues with it pasting any more.
