Windows 7 Joystick causes black screen

(I posted this in the mouse stuck thread already, but seeing as it's a completely different issue I'm making another thread.)

My joystick is a Logitch Force 3D pro. I have the latest drivers for it and everything.

I just fixed the issue with the mouse getting stuck by unplugging my joystick, but now I can't use my joystick anymore becuase I have to take it out to start the game.

When it is plugged in, if I run the game without compatability mode, it runs okay but I get the mouse stuck bug.

When I run it with compatability mode on, the game starts and then gets stuck on a black screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Due to the lack of an edit button:

The game also freezes if I get into the game (joystick unplugged), then go to the options, plug it in and then detect controllers.
