Still need help with joystick(s) CH pro throttle. CH pro pedals and CH fighterstick

1.31 is not recognizing these at all, OTHER than a few buttons I had set up macros on within CH control manager. I cannot “record keystrokes” with joysticks within keymapper and no joystick axis’s are recognized.

I deleted the cfml file in 1.31 and copied the cfml file from 1.30 and can see the keymapper setup I use in 1.30 but it doesn’t work in 1.31

Intel 2 quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz 3.25 GB RAM

XP version 2002 SP3

Nvidea GEFOrce 9800GT

DirectX - 9.0C

CH pro throttle. CH pro pedals and CH fighterstick

Copied entire cfml folder over from 1.30 to 1.31 (everything worked in 1.30)

Try not doing that after a full uninstall / reinstall of the beta.

Don't you already have a thread where you've reported the issues you are having?

i do have to read every one of these things you know. I'll never have dinner at this rate.

Yes I was part of another thread but there was no fix for me so I started my own and included all my specs. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back in here.

I only copied and pasted my cfml file over because 1.31 would not recognize my HOTAS at all with the orig install and I could not key map at all. This was a suggestion from another player but did not work.

It then came to light that the issue seems to be 1.31 will not recognize the CH products when in "mapped" mode. If I change to "direct" mode they are recognized, but button 1 and 2 are inverted so everything would need to be re-mapped ( a small hassle but no big deal) .

The major problem is I need to be in "mapped" mode for my macro's (programmed in CH Control Manager) to work. These macros are critical for my game play.

Again, this was not an issue in 1.30.

Thanks for your time Guphur

Ok awesome reporting. i can ticket that but I don't have any CH prods. What is the model numbers you are using?

We'll need to learn about mapped vs direct mode.

We actually used to have a bunch of their stuff but it was all the old game port stuff and new computers don't support that interface so over the years we've gotten rid of it and switched to USB.

Ok found a couple of these in the bin. Downloading the control manager.

The bug is:

"CH products using the CH control panel don;t work in mapped mode but do work in direct mode. Mapped mode is needed to support custom macros."

We don't ever use that software since they plug and play fine with Windows.

I'll send you my "maps" if that will help.

Also....in Mapped mode only the "macro'd" buttons worked in 1.31, all others didn't

Hi yas,

I have the USB set from CH, Fighterstick, Pro Throttle and Pro Pedals.

Everything works fine in 1.30-live version.

Same settings and setup in CH-control Center caused all my sticks to not register in game.

After reading this forum, I set the "Primary controller" in windows to my Fighterstick (or Control Manager Device 1) , and then it was found, if I turned off the mapped mode.

CH Control Software provides the modes, basically a normal mode, called "Direct mode" that has no programming functions and then the "Mapped mode" that I normally use. Mapped mode "maps" the sticks in a another way somehow.. Fighter stick becomes "Control Manager Device 1", throttle is "CM device 2" and rudder pedals "CM device 3".

In this mode you could e.g. map keystrokes to the stick buttons, like "M for map" and stuff. This way I can use the "default" key mapper settings in game, just program the CH stick to send "key M" when I press the button I want to show Map, or K and I for elevator trim etc...

Aaanyway, the Mapped mode is not detected in game, at least in my case.

The 1.30 live version works fine, as does IL-2 and every other game I've played recently.

I tried different Compatibility settings, but nothing seems to work. Only the Controller one is detected, the one that I set up as "Preferred controller" in Windows Control panel.

There's another way to program the sticks in CH Control Software, a Combined stick with 8 axes and 32 buttons.

It worked in game, to some degree.. I couldn't map my toe brakes, but everything else seemed to work at least when I tried the axes in Keymapper.

Still, something is "wrong" in your joystick detection routines...

EDIT:

O'yea, forgot:

Windows 7 32 bit with 4 GB RAM, (with all the latest Updates, even the "DirectX update", that contains all the Dx9 stuff, that the Win7 is not shipped with.)

Nvidia 8800 GTX

CH software version 4.51

What else... I think that's it.

I appear to be having a very similar issue with my Logitech G940. The 1.31 beta recognizes my throttle and redduer quadrants, but nothing from the stick quadrant, no buttons or anything. VERY odd.

I use a CHproducts rig and this has worked fine in 1.31 till the latest patch. It still works fine in 1.30 but in the latest Beta they don't appear to do anything! Even rescanning going into direct mode from mapped nothing.

I switched back to 1.30 and its fine and I looked in the windows control panel and using the CHproducts software.

Anyone had a similar issue?

I use all three CH products in the Mapped mode without any troubles in ver 131...39. I did program all new settings (CFML) and not cut and paste my current game profile.

Win7, CH ver 4.51

I had CH software problems early on with ver4.51 and Win7. The CMCC is placed in the Windows STARTUP folder during the install. This didn't always work correctly during startup and for some reason dropped out of the mapped mode.

I removed the CMCC link from STARTUP and have an icon on the desktop to activate it before starting the game. Never had any problems since.

That is what I do already and everything is fine in the main game. Most strange.

Right the work around is as follows and its all thanks to Juuba. Acivate the CMCC into mapped mode. Then goto the control panel and select CH Control Manager Device One from the game controller list. Make this the default controller for legacy applications then select ok to set it.

This cleared the issue and I was able to use the Joysticks however I have not tested it in a tank online et but the planes work fine. Thanks Juuba.

Hmm, so you could get it to work like that..

I didn't... or at least I remember so..

I will retry this when i get home.

Throttle nor rudder is not registered.

Are you using what Compatibility mode for ww2.exe ?

Ok,

Just decided to try something funky... and it worked:

- I went in to the control panel "Set up USB game controllers"

- Then I set all 3 of my "CH Control Manager Devices" as preferred, first the #1, then OK. Then I reset the preferred to #2, hit ok.. Then set it again to #3, ok.

- Last, set "CH Control manager Device 1" as the Preferred device, OK and OK to close the "Game Controllers" window.

Then I loaded offline test and voilá!

(Only the throttele is #3 and not #2 as it is in current LIVE 1.30.3)

PC support - Closest thing to voodoo magic us mere mortals can get.

I only did No.1 USB device. What I think caused this issue was Win 7 and the way it deals with game controllers. I think it went screwie for me when I put a different game controller in and took it out. That my Logitech Steering wheel. That caused all the settings to change.

OK so I need your help. RAMP says "works for me".

I simply plugged the stick in and installed the software. I then proceeded to map some of the buttons to keys the game uses. For example, I mapped button "c" which is a thumb button on the joystick to "m" which opens the map. I saved that as a wwiiol profile and loaded. Then I went in game and tried it. Map came up no problem. I also tested default axis such as joystick flight control and throttle. That worked as well. Guns fired, etc...everything seemed normal to me.

So what does he need to do differently?
