When in a DB-7, I am able to fire the ventral and dorsal gun while in there stowed position, all through deployment, and without any interruption while passing across the Empennage. However, I am see no muzzle flash nor tracers from the gun, only getting the sound effect and the ammo counter ticking off rounds
