me and tigger6 have made some bombing tests with me in char and him in 110FB..

in 1.31

first bombing runs he managed to track me on each side with each bomb..

at flights after that nothing at all.

and sometimes direct hits showed 100.000 of joules if not millions of joules, sometimes just a few 1000 at direct hits.

the same thing basicly at misses sometimes a few 1000 20-30m away? sometimes 100.000s of joules at misses.

then tried at training sever.. dunno if it is 1.30 or 1.29 ther.. but he managed to completely destroy the right side sprocked/suspension thing and i was leaning alot but nothing else.

later tried he tracked me several times and damaged the suspension a few times there.

could we get more testers with this and get reports about bombing vs heavy tanks?

maybe i forgot to say something but its dinner now :D

I just want to add that in order to determine hits we used the position of the scorch mark. (The scorch marks do not show on the new yellow (dirt?) road, possibly a bug?) As far as I know no scorch mark while observing a direct hit means it really was a direct hit. Tank sitting in the middle of a scorch mark = near miss.

Both 1.30 and 1.31 seemed to work similarly- direct hits (1 in 1.31 and 3 in 1.30 iirc) did not deal damage to the tank. Near hits on left and right side caused a detrack on that side.

Won't work.

First person decides the hit location and sends the damage requests. In third person what you see can be wildly off from that.

IMO it's really hard to do any kind of reliable bomber vs. tank testing on the training/beta server. The main problem is that it is very hard to tell exactly where you hit. As you need to hit specific parts of the tanks it's just close to impossible to do repeatedly test effects of bombs on tank. I think 99,9% of all pilots are just happy if they can just get a direct hit on a tank, aiming for specific parts is almost require superhuman skills.

Sure, you can do a big number of drops on a tank but I'm not sure what the results will tell you other then "It SEEMS easier/harder to kill tanks".

It's also very time consuming to test bombs as most important aitcrafts only have one or to bombs.

Is there a reload command or unlimited ammo command in the beta client? We need something like that if bombing is going to get any deeper testing.
