Spawned in Virton as British LMG. Got killed (with odd graphics glitches). Respawned immediately as mortarman, even though another 23 LMGs were in supply

I spawned as a German SMG, died respawned came in as mortarman when there was plenty of SMG in supply, No graphics glitches etc though. Despawned reslected SMG spawned in and off I went.

Had something similar happen to me today, spawned in as an ATR, died, reserved unit was a rifleman on respawn.

It happened once to me in .26 (before we had the unlimited spawnpool) , I was spawned in as LMG and came back as Grenadier. (Playing German)

OK but in any of these cases was the reserved unit out of supply?

It will automatically pick the next unit for you.

nope. four hundred and some odd in supply for me, simply canceled the reservation and respawned an ATR. it seems to be a very random occurrence across multiple builds. I'm not sure how easy it's gonna be to identify.

Yep - this has been a problem for a long time. The client doesn't tell you when it's going to respawn you with something different, just goes ahead and spawns you, and then you're stuck standing there for 10s despawn timer with an ATR you really have no clue how to use and that is just gonna die when you step of out the barracks into the fully camped AB...

Really wish it wouldn't do it.

I think it's the client's way of telling me "you keep dying as an SMG, here, try this for a change and stop griefing supply"

That isn;t the issue here. The client is respawning you as something else when it should nto do so.

It's happened to me in 1.31, but not every time. About the 4th respawn it will send me in as mortar.

That's Doc's way of penalising you for breaking the Beta during Week 1 :D

You know, the time some anonymous player made a suggestion and you listened?

Just did 30 spawns in a row, mix of inf units, sometimes dead, this did not happen to me but we'll leave it open in case someone can replicate.
