PC users, are you having any issues with the prone key not working correctly?

The stance buttons only react part of the time when pressed for me. If I'm prone, I may have to hit the prone button 3-4 times before it reacts to it. It seems to be mostly the prone button but it happens for crouch too, and it happens both going up and down. It's severe enough to impact play, because I never know whether it's going to work or not.

What computer' date=' mac or pc? What FPS were you getting at the time?[/quote']

PC. I tried it with both max performance with fps >100 and max quality with fps~30. No change.

Seriously, I just partook in the infantry test, and this is broken.

If I do nothing but stand/lie still, I can hit the prone button 20 times without it registering. It does not seem to be correlated with moving, it happens even if I haven't moved for a while. It actually seems like hitting the stance button resets the timer that locks the stance, ie if I spam the stance button it will never work, but if I give up and don't touch it for a few seconds, it will work. The thing is that it's not consistent. Sometimes I can go prone->stand->prone within a second, and then it will lock.

I think this stance lock is bad because you don't know whether the key will work or not, which is really annoying. If you want to limit rapid stance changes, why not just make the change happen more slowly. As it is now, it's ridiculously fast getting up from prone (getting into prone can be done pretty fast IRL, and that might be desirable, too.) I think it would work better if you could rely on the button working, so that you'd start the change even if it doesn't finish as rapidly as it does now.

I find I have to really press the keys not just tap them now to have the avatar crouch or change positions. I'm using the standard apple keyboard.

Generally I find all reactions are much slower.

This *might* be related to the bug where mac users can change stances but the eye height doesn't change and they can't shoot or climb stairs. Something is getting stuck.

Remember I'm on a PC though. And holding the key down worked no better than pressing it repeatedly, I tried that too.

If they are related bugs, they might respond differently on different environments. Do all keys respond this way or only the stance changes (ie fire, strafe left/right, run work correctly?).

I ran into this last night too - press prone/crouch button, guy stays standing - press it again, he goes into position.

Do you have to be completely stopped to change position? it seemed to me to be less of a problem if i wasn't moving/turning at all.

I believe there is a time factor where you can't change stances until a slight delay after running/moving. But it shouldn't be many seconds. Maybe its not working correctly...

do you get this bug only on the beta server or do you get it while testing offline too? it might be a server latency issue

I know most of the zombies, disappearing friendlies/enemies and capping issues were probably server related.

I did not see any issue with any other key, all movements/strafe/lean/etc work fine.

It's the same offline. (Besides, net issues can not affect my movement on my machine, only 3rd person views, unless I'm completely mistaken as to how the game works.)

My bad, it appears this problem was because the prone button had gotten double-mapped as both primary and secondary key. When I fixed this, it seem to work as before. Sorry for the red herring.

My issue is related to this. I have always mapped the "toggle prone" function to "mouse wheel down" so I can change stances by flicking the mouse wheel back, or by using the default V key. In 1.30.3.255 (and all previous versions) this is about 99% reliable - the rare occasions it fails are generally when things are getting busy and a bit laggy.

In 1.31.0.28 the default V key still seems to work OK, but mapping it to "mouse wheel down" is unreliable. I find that about...

1/3 of the time it works OK

1/3 of the time it does not respond

1/3 of the time it seems to register a double input, so the character starts to change stance but then reverses the movement and ends up in the same stance.

I am using a Saitek GM3200 mouse. I get the problem with a generic HID compliant mouse driver or with the correct Saitek driver. I do not use the Saitek SST programming software.
